      I love Cantonese dim sum very much. I haven’t eaten them for many years because of being gluten-free. I hope to make as many gluten-free dim sum recipes as possible.

    Do you have to use pork lard for the wrappers, or can you use sunflower oil?

    • @lucymeishinobinderglutenfree
      @lucymeishinobinderglutenfree  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Yes, you can use sunflower oil. I used the pork lard for flavor that is used in Chinese restaurant.

    Thanks for the easy recipe :) can duck fat be used instead of pork lard? Lard is not easily available in my country.

    • @lucymeishinobinderglutenfree
      @lucymeishinobinderglutenfree  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can just ommit it. I made the lard from pork fat by myself. It enhanced the flavor of har gao.

    i've been trying to decide which to make first, this of the pork dumplings and i have noticed the wrappers have different ingredients, is there a reason for why this one has lard and the other has potato? can wrappers be interchangeable?

    • @lucymeishinobinderglutenfree
      @lucymeishinobinderglutenfree  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are different kind of Chinese dumplings and the wrappers can't be interchangeable. Har Gow wrappers are much thinner than pork dumplings.

      When steaming dumplings, the steamer should be lined with parchment paper. After the dumplings are steamed, let them cool for a while before they are eaten and they will not stick.

      @@lucymeishinobinderglutenfree i followed exact your way..first badge was steamed more then 5 minutes and i did,t place butter paper..in second time i steamed for exact 5 minutes with sheet placed under and waited them to cool.so the taste and texture was awesome..
