Just purchased the Mixstream Pro for my workshop students to use next week. We have a full pioneer CDJ set in the studio but need separate units to unable more students to practice and enhance skills. I’ll let you know how it goes next week!
This might be my own bias, full disclosure I’m NOT a DJ, but I find it hard to take dj’s seriously with equipment like this. I get it intermediate dj’s for sure, I’m definitely bias. I mean cool product but I wouldn’t play this out anywhere

I like the idea of not having to look up, left or right to look at another screen I like to focus on what’s right on front of me and that’s why I think a player like this is definitely moving in the right direction for inmusic 👍🏼

Yes, me too. Hopefully will never need to use a backup but nonetheless, it's important to have one. Was planning on the Prime Go but this cheaper Numark fits the bill with the Engine OS & XLR out. Ideal for practice sessions without firing up the P4 too. Can't complain at £400 cheaper than the Prime Go.
I've looking for a standalone system but this also is a great portable backup system as well. Just think. If you run across a not-so-good DJ system or something happens while playing your set, You can plug this into pro speakers, use your Wifi hotspot on your phone and you are back on track. Besides, I feel it would be good to learn a different DJ software and Engine has done some major improvements.

I feel silly saying 'I told you so' to myself, but it's cool seeing that this came to fruition! That said, it feels a bit weird seeing Denon's waveform colour scheme with Numark, who's historically been red. The inbuilt speakers were VERY surprising in terms of volume and the frequency range, at least in terms of how it was picked up by Mojaxx's microphone.
@@AshleyCarrington-s4d Hi Ashley. I get on great with it. It's taken me 6 months to find all the features and learn to Dj properly, becoming proficient in pop and garage. This controller has more features than I realised when I bought it and is worth the money. I now use the engine dj software for music preparation having started with Rekordbox. The pitch faders! Initially I didn't like their operation as the range seemed too short and it was hard to get into 0.1 adjustments without over doing it each way. Then I realised what the little + - buttons next to them were for. You can quickly switch the pitch faders range using those little buttons between +4 to +100 and it dramaticallty changes the range adjust for you. I use mine on +4 often as it then gives me easy micro adjustments. I DJ 90% using the sync button and use the two track horizontal view mode as you can see the red beat dots on the tracks allign that helps you confirm the sync is correct (you can also do beatgrid adjustments on this deck). I'm now a full time DJ and this little deck is my constant friend. The record function enables me to upload every set to my Soundcloud for sharing. Discovering how to use the hotcues has really improved my DJing too. The twin ouputs xlr and rca come in handy at larger events where I run a fifth fill speaker from the rca output. I also discovered the effect pads function asinging some of the pretty basic short midi sounds to the pads, but its not the best wih the stock noises having limited applications. Overall it's a very capable, well featured deck that when you understand it rewards you. I'm planning to use the built in light control system with a Soundswitch dongle to dmx control my lights. This product is a winner! Check my channel for my recent DJ events, particularly Poppy's 18th The Movie and you'll see close up of me using the Mixstream Pro Plus. Subscribe by all means! Any questions feel free to ask. PS, releasing sync to regain pitch control needs a quick flick up and down of the pitch fader or it still stays latched. I screwed up two events trying to sync 8bpm differences and not being able to quickly release the speed difference until I found this out! Newby here... I have 500gb of music on a hard drive but it the MS Pro does not find the files. I have tried copying section onto a formatted flash drive but it still does not work. Any clues please?
this is a great device, just need a few changes, longer pitch, jogs from platinum fx to look nice with the screens, speakers moved to the top and cue/play buttons changed to alps switches like on pioneer

No manual loops (in & out)? & no adjustments of your effects? Pretty cool, but almost would wanna just use some older kit with my laptop and good software, but I like the concept, too much discrepancies for the 400 this should be like 400$ but if u really just want stand alone with the Denon OS it's ok
Big question is wether in the future this would allow external MIDI devices being hooked up to the Mixstream main device and map Engine function onto those external devices to extend the control and usability.

Why the speakers? Put a battery or 2 sets of pads, longer faders, filter where it should be... Losing about 1/6th of the space there. At 600$, this can be used in small clubs comfortably

I like the speakers idea though... You can have a late mixing session with the speakers not to loud.. If its late or a school nite... Don't have to worry about. The bass on your main speakers as they'll be off
Well it's strange product, but I see in the future a big step brother with four channels sixteen pads, like Numark NS6ii type of controller, it will be awesome!
Admire their push to streaming, but Engine OS is so far behind on simple organizational features for streaming--can't pre-analyze tracks, can't sort by BPM (or artist or track I believe), the list goes on...while Serato is not integrated, it's far better at doing this, also allows you to edit / add meta data and create and edit Tidal playlists in the software. Once this changes maybe Engine OS will be a more worthy contender.
Pre-analysis is still a dream I have, but with Engine 2.0 you can now add streaming tracks to the actual library on your stick/card and then add them to playlists and sort them. Check out the last episode of this series.
You can't be serious if you buy and use numark those are the worst consoles to buy shit sound , few features, cheap plastic made shit quality knoobs and so on ...

I've been thinking about switching from Traktor to Prime/Engine, but price has always been a factor, this might have just eleminated that factor.
If you play dance music then traktor is easily the best... S8 or a F1 remapped to dj with is what I use perfect

impressive unit for the price. kinda wish they swapped phaser for reverb though. I don't know a single person that uses phaser.

I have seen it running on a Linux emulator. Since the firmware is Linux based.
Why the speakers? Put a battery or 2 sets of pads, longer faders, filter where it should be... Losing about 1/6th of the space there. At 600$, this can be used in small clubs comfortably
@seb zomaar If a party is too loud to use the headphones with cue mix knob, then these won't work either...
I like the Numark design more than on Denon directly, sure i enjoy green color, but their usage on Denon hardware are way to excessive!

Wish they'd left out the speakers and given some fx control, and maybe some more pads. Could have been done for the same price...
I like the speakers idea though... You can have a late mixing session with the speakers not to loud.. If its late or a school nite... Don't have to worry about. The bass on your main speakers as they'll be off
Well it's strange product, but I see in the future a big step brother with four channels sixteen pads, like Numark NS6ii type of controller, it will be awesome!
I InMusic already has the Prime 4. This fills the beginner gap at the bottom of the Engine OS range quite nicely though.

Admire their push to streaming, but Engine OS is so far behind on simple organizational features for streaming--can't pre-analyze tracks, can't sort by BPM (or artist or track I believe), the list goes on...while Serato is not integrated, it's far better at doing this, also allows you to edit / add meta data and create and edit Tidal playlists in the software.
Once this changes maybe Engine OS will be a more worthy contender.
Pre-analysis is still a dream I have, but with Engine 2.0 you can now add streaming tracks to the actual library on your stick/card and then add them to playlists and sort them. Check out the last episode of this series.
The only thing I don’t like is no sample buttons
