"There's something very human about it because it can only make a sound with air, and it needs to breathe. And on each note you hear the breath; you hear the exhale." - Hans Zimmer on the organ
Beyond the fact that this music/movie is absolutely stunning, does any musician noticed that this music was composed on a tempo of 60 bpm ? Like minutes, seconds ! Time. I'm sure this was intentional. Like the fact that the ship is made like a clock, 12 parts, turning ... Hans Zimmer, Christopher Nolan, you fucking geniuses. Best movie ever.
I noticed that and I'm not a musician. It's a ticking clock because time is such a big part of the movie. We're kind of used to hearing a tick tick tick sound when we're stressed or pressured, so this music fits perfectly. There is also the imagery of the spinning station that's like a clock. I love this music. And the pipe organ is haunting and beautiful at the same time. It also brings in sort of religious meaning for some people because most people hear the pipe organ in old churches. Altogether a very deep movie in both story, visuals, and music.
SuperRedux Number 15: Docking Last thing you want when docking with the Endeavour, is Matt Damon blowing out an airlock. But it turns out that's what you might get.

Stryke It's because of some other reasons, not really about being loud and epic. It covers the whole human hearing spectrum and allows you to produce many layers of music with just one person. This piece is really nice but organ use is quite simple in it.
Words fail to describe the stakes of what this scene represents. The improbability of the action being undertaken against the forces at play with zero margin for error. The very fact Cooper makes the decision so quickly is his only chance. As ridiculous as it is, there is no hesitation. In the most unforgiving of environments this is a hail Mary because no other options remain. To score such a scene, to capture it's essence so exquisitely leaves me speechless. HZ just seems to improve with every OST.
It has a sense of "human" to it, despite it being a sci-fi and out in space, Like Hans said, you get that from hearing each time the organ "breathes" out its notes and pitches. oh my god it gives me chills every time

Gracias Kip y Nolan.

I prefer Star Citizen because to me it has far better visuals and game design with a skill based system and first person focus. Elite feels like a major grind with slow and not fun combat to me. Also Elite is not an mmo. Star Citizen is designated as such. Additionally Elite has no Singleplayer while Star Citizens Squadron 42 has one of the best game casts out there. Also Elite is far too procedural and empty. It's all preferences. Apples and Oranges.
