Another difference I've figured out is: that you can't fake gravity, meaning in ECS when you're jumping around, what goes up, must come down; that's hard to not do when people are bouncing up and down in ECS. With WCS, people can fake walking, meaning that since WCS is much more grounded, people may have difficulty trying to figure out how to 'walk' when they think they're trying to 'dance'.

@@AnjaLerntDeutsch in the video I don’t see the bounce up. It should be down for Lindy, Boogie and Rockabilly Jive

Ecs in ballroom dance competitions has evolved to have little to no bounce down or up.
the triples we do are down but you have to come up to go back down, so there is some lift in what we do.

ECS looks just like a jive, or am I wrong?

Yes, jive, ecs, and single time swing are all the same music just different speeds. Jive and single time swing are done to the same speed. Ecs is done to slower music.
The other difference in jive has a lot of kicks and flick and ecs does not. There are some other differences but those are the main ones.

I go on two salsa courses with people who are judges (one of them have also been host in the local TV show Let's dance) and are educated in teaching dances and on west coast swing with people who have danced west coast swings for years so it's unlikely fair to compare them.
I could go on West Coast Swing beginner with the same one mentioned earlier too but I don't as it's the beginner course only but maybe I would had learned better there as he's way more professional and better. Maybe I could had gone it free of charge as lead?
Anyways I feel like the salsa is way more fancier at our level but there's also more going on. Maybe West Coast Swing is a bit slower? I also figure one could use things from Salsa & Batchata in West Coast Swing (and things from Kizomba, Smooth Foxtrot, Tango, ... in fox.)
