Why doesn't Western AF partner with these artists to release albums of these stripped back singles. It's usually better than whatever version that is heavily produced. So good!
Please do it. What a good idea this would be. Crowdfunding for coasts for production and artists, giving away a Download, a CD, If lucky Vinyl. Western-AF Shirts and stuff. Man, I know alot of people who would fund this and I'm not living in the heartland of this music nor either the USA. :D please think about IT!
Do you support western AF on Patreon? I’m sure they would love to but things aren’t free so go throw them some money if you enjoy the content and they can grow
Got to meet Cole in Chattanooga - he and Nick Jamerson played a listening room tucked under Lookout Mountain. They absolutely ripped the lid off that little place. After Cole played 3 or 4 songs some lady hollered out “play a happy song!” to which Cole replied “wrong set, lady.” Talked to him at the bar and asked if he ever gets nervous.. such a humble and awesome guy.
Cole is on the rise! Had the chance to see him live 4 times this year, each time being 10/10. Pure guy, great lyrics and I’m sure he’ll keep gaining traction.
Funny story, my families last name is Chaney, saw Cole on a Apple Music playlist a while back and went “oh thats funny, no way he’s from kentucky like us” and he was, great aunts heard of him too so we might be related😂
Can anybody clarify these lyrics from the 1st verse? My mother had gypsy soul trapped in her ?? My father a ???? Thanks WAF for the chord chart on UG, really would like these lyrics. I reached out to Cole and he was kind enough to come back with these lyrics. My mother a gypsy soul trapped in a Rush girl (Rush being where she grew up) My father a federal hand
Was waiting on the day this guy made it on here.. dude has a voice from somewhere else hah. Saw him at his headlining show at the grey eagle in Asheville, NC. Just had full command of that crowd. The songs just seem to come so easily to him. Humble guy too.
It would be rad if Western AF did what Heartworn Highways did with a small group of underground musicians, spend a few days in their life and document what it takes to be themselves.

I come from the Punk Rock world, and if I may say, a lot of these Western AF featured artists are waaaaaay more punk than some of the artists that Fat Wreck and Epitaph are pushing these days (no disrespect to those artists, but the authenticity the Western AF artists display is unparalleled).
I saw him in Austin recently. Before he started he fell off the stage and messed up his hand and he still did the whole set but his hand was hurting him too bad so he only strummed

Between waf, gems, punk with a camera and paste you could make some dope compilations

Cole Chaney has the most powerful voice live, he is a real gem
Anytime I hear him sing it takes me back to my childhood in the mountains of SW Virginia.

by the way he was absolutely amazing, sounded even better in person, still dont think he took a drink of water all night, flawless
While the rest of the world obsesses over Zach Bryan for the next couple of years, put your bottom dollar in Cole. He’s the real “next Tyler”.
Save a seat for Nolan Taylor on that rocket-ship too!
He’s not a next Tyler, he is his own. He is Cole Chaney!
Dude can write a song and play it like he stole it! Felt this one brother
Been waiting for this to show up on Spotify, checking daily, patiently waiting... lol
still waiting smh
Somebody listened to a lot of Steve Earle. lol This is terrific, ol Steve'll be proud.
Similar to Tom’s Aimes Prayer for sure
seen him, logan halstead and charlie crockett this summer at a country festival. one of the best weekends of my life
One of the best I've heard on Western AF in a long time, and that's a high bar. Incredible stuff
Another song that resonates with your soul. Great voice and playing... But those lyrics are gold. 👋👋👋👋
God I love his music. Learned a couple and covered one. Hoping he keeps up this writing and playing, so satisfying.
Drove out 9 hours to see Cole Chaney live. Twice! Well worth the drive. Love to see him on the channel.
East Tx proud
Geez, this song cut me to the bone, so inspiring, so self reflective this song tells my story too
Quite possibly my new favorite artist.. thanks for writing, playing, and sharing
Incredible
I was wondering when we’d see Brother Cole on here!
Cole is the man with the music. Love all your songs! As a musician who plays and sings my favorite covers to play are Cole Songs all day
But I never do them justice BTW 😅
Great song and voice!
Absolutely amazing. 🙌 Brilliant work from the Western AF team and an incredible performance from Cole! The song said so much to me, incredible stuff.
