    One tip.... place you fragrance oil near warmer or something warm. Pouring cold fragrance oil cold can cause issues. Also...frosting happens because soy wax tries to go back to original form... nothing prevents...sometimes it happens, sometimes it does not. I do a 80/20 ration of soy and paraffin wax to prevent it...on wax melts..it actually creates a cool effect.

    Love how you pointed out to everyone that doubling bars price is only rebuying the product ingredients only, no profit..many do not think of this so glad you pointed that out! as usual, my relaxation and break from my own business is watching you make products! Love your videos, calming voice, and clear instruction! Thanks for sharing with others, as that one comment that was so wonderfully stated said..you teach so many and are helping others survive in a difficult time right now..kudos to your kindness and time!

      But that's not actually the case. People often get confused about cash and profit. Let's say you start the day with £1.50 and buy your raw materials for £1.50 you then sell the bar for £3.00. You have £1.50 profit, that is actual profit. You don't use profit to buy material, you use cash. When the customer bought the melt from you they paid £3.00, so you have £3.00 cash.
      So now on day 2 you have £3.00 (whereas on day 1 you only had £1.50, which you spent) so you can buy your materials again for £1.50 and still have £1.50 left over to do something else with. You could make the same thing again or double your production and spend the whole £3
      If you did exactly the same again, make a new bar for £1.50 and sell for £3.00 at the end of the day you now have £4.50 (£1.50 left from yesterday from yesterday and £3.00 from today) Overall your total PROFIT is £6.00 from the 2 bars. You have spent £3.00 on materials (£1.50 from the very 1st day and £1.50 today) You have sold £6.00 of product and you now have £4.50 in cash. (£1.50 put into the business to start - £1.50 to buy material, you now have no money, then you get £3 from the sale and spend £1.50 on new material, you then sell that bar for £3) .

    Absolutely brilliant video. And regarding wax melts, I use 100% soy wax, it may be a soft wax but the scent throw is amazing and the frosting is little to nothing. And the 2 weeks curing, I do it just incase to make sure the smell is strong and to see if I mixed the way up correctly, don't wanna be seeing the wax seep fragrance oil.

    I primarily make facial skin care products, followed by bath and body, then my Luxury candle line. You may not believe this, but I never considered wax melts, until you started filming yours. I want you to know in a short 18 months, my candle sales have tripled and it is all in the wax melts!

    Love this video. Just an additional comment on pricing. If you are only doubling your price, you are not paying the rent on the space you are using for your buisnes or you are not paying for your electric/gas power or water. Natures garden fragrances have gone up to about an average 21 to 22 dollars. Still much less that you are paying. I am so grateful I am in the states. you guys have it rough.

    But there is so much competition especially for a newbie ppl want to buy of experienced and reputable sellers (I know I do) so in reality any profit you make you dont see and your out of pocket until you build your product and reputation then once your established and you have your own branding style etc you can start to make money I'm a fair believer that what you put in is what you get out.. I've tried many different things in life and many I've left behind as I was hopeless at it some things I've continued as I'm not to bad at lol.. Wax melts for me is a starting block so i can get experience with the different waxes/cold & hot throw/fragrances etc working my way to candles

I've just watched one of your video's and you are so knowledgable and insperational 😁 I love Wax Melts but don't know where to start ( Equipment and other bits & bobs) I used to make Bath Bombs and want to start doing that again too ! Natures Garden....They seem to stock the better colours & fragrances ( You buy from them alot 😂😂 according to your videos ) Do they sell deeper colours too ? I only ask because when I was making Bath Bombs the colours appeared deep but ended up more of a pastle colour ? Sorry it's a long message but I really did enjoy your video and am now subscribed 😃😃 thank you so much for all your insight xx❤

    Hello Karen, I watch you quite frequently. You have amazing videos and great information to help all who watches. Quick question? I have 100% 415 Soy Wax. I finally made my 1st candles on Friday. The wick came away from the wax on 3 out 5. I also felt the wax came away from the glass jar. I topped up and will light in 2 weeks. I heated to 187F, added fragrance at 150F then poured at 140F. A new batch today. Heated to 170F, removed from boiler, added fragrance. .70 oz to 2pounds of wax. What am I doing wrong? Or right? LOL

    Hi Karen, I hope you are well. I have a question but I'm wondering whether you'll actually see it as a, this video is now a couple of years od and b, I noticed your last video was 9 months ago but I'll ask anyways and that is, can I ask what size labels you use for your wax melt bars please? I'm guessing you have them printed elsewhere and then have them delivered? Currently I am using online labels and I know they can print for you but I'm assuming that all your CLP information differs from bar to bar depending on scent so do you have someone else print or do you print at home? Many thanks in advance and thank you for sharing your knowledge with us, it's helped me more than a few times

    What's the difference between lotion bars and wax melts?

    • @ASMRyouVEGANyet
      @ASMRyouVEGANyet 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      A lotion bar is for the body. It's moisturizer made of ingredients that harden st room temperature but melt when you handle it, and you can rub it in your skin.
      Wax melts are cubes of fragranced wax that are meant to be melted in a wax burner. They're for adding fragrance to your home. They are not for your body.

    How long do you have to wait until you take the wax bars out if you don’t freeze it.

      A good strong fragrance and a softer wax, although golden wax has frosting issues it does have a great scent throw

      I hope Karen doesn't mind me answering this but citronella fragrance oil is a good insect replent, Supplies for Candles sells the fragrance oil.

      I know a lot use Lemon etc. to keep the insects away but I believe any fragrance keeps them away as it hides the smell of YOU so the midgies don't come near. This is something I have tested many times over the years. I recently tested Eucalyptus oil and that worked very well.

      A little always sticks but you could try adding 10% parafin wax next time. Also did you pop them in the freezer for 15 mins before unmoulding

    Hi Karen, I came across your video's and I'm so glad I did. I have just started a side business and I'm making wax melts. My biggest problem is the measurements and frosting. Thankfully I have gotten down the mathematics for small batches but the frosting,.. ugh. It only happens sometimes and I just don't get it! I've looked at the links you have shared about your tart wax, however they don't ship to Canada. My biggest question is, what wax do you use or recommend for me to get to make tarts/melts? Maybe, hopefully I can find them here or have them shipped here. Thank you sooooo much for all your wisdom! It's really nice of you to share this with the world. 🥰

    Why can’t you pour the wax when it’s hot?

    • @Amy_Stanmore
      @Amy_Stanmore 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's due to the fragranceyou add. You add fragrance at a lower temperature. Test it out for yourself if you want and experiment 😀

    • @louisetansley
      @louisetansley ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are using a plastic clamshell it will melt the shell. Pouring too hot will also cool the wax too quickly and youll get frosting and it wont set as smooth as it should. I personally pour between 155-160
