    I work at an airport, but a small regional one. I am so jealous of bigger airports that have indoor cabins for the person who shoots the deicing fluid. All I have is a hose and my own two hands. Even with gloves, it feels like my fingers get frozen off.

      I work at O'Hare, now granted I work for Delta and that is not a hub for Delta. But we get hand me downs, and we still use open buckets. Been working for Delta for 23 years now.

    Hello I think that a lightly salinated water canon is better the water is poured on rather than spraying. A new type of tanker truck is required the water has to be boiling hot no chemicals are required...this is the solution for the industry please consider this method please ask and look into passing this method for the industry it's improving hank you

      Bit late but will tell you regardless. I work as a de icing agent at Portland International and there’s a bunch of reasons why that’s a bad idea. We already heat Type 1 de icing fluid to 180F in the fluid tank and it leaves the nozzle at 140F, they forgot to mention that part in the video. Type 1 already takes much longer than water to freeze but if it’s especially cold that’s where the Type 4 comes in. Salinated water, even if its boiling when it leaves the nozzle, won’t take long to loose its heat and freeze into ice, making the ice problem much worse. Nevermind how bad contact with salt would be for both our equipment and the aircraft.

    why not spray salt instead of water?

    • @jamesf791
      @jamesf791 ปีที่แล้ว

      They don't spray it with water. Mixed with water but not water. But when the plane takes off all that gunk flys right off the plane. Last thing they want is salt on a runway.

    They both concludes 90%of world aircraft productions?
    Is it because the technology transfer is not done by western countries???
    Isn't it duopoly????

      Yeap, building an aeroplane is like building a car.

    • @dbclass4075

      Revenue, yes. Aircraft produced, not really. Market for airliners is 61%; there is still general aviation, in which Textron Aviation, Gulfstream Aerospace, and Bombardier are contenders. The most produced aircraft is Cessna 172 Skyhawk. 44 000+ produced, and still in production today.
      Technology isn't the issue, it is economics. The capital cost to manufacture an airliner is massive. So massive, governments need to be part of it, indirectly or directly. Boeing's early days is during World War I, in which aircraft demand for military is massive. Airbus started in Concorde, not the plane itself, but the concept of international agreements. This was formalized during A300 production.
