Don't be so harsh on yourself, I think you're definitely the best content maker for Grim Dawn both on youtube & twitch now. And I'm sure you have so much experience in this so you can play any game you like and videos about it will be awesome!
I was one of those who disliked when you rotated your camera, mainly in your youtube content when I was trying to follow along where you were going. Then I saw your HC death on your Infiltrator and you explained so well why it was almost completely avoidable if you had rotated your camera more. So I started doing it and now I can't stop, for all the reasons you said here. So...keep up the awesome content!
regarding the spots where you can travel a huge distance with Blitz and SS - from what i know , in order for you to be able to cast them over a long distance , you need to be able to see the path you would be taking towards the enemy , hence why camera rotation is extremely important - at 3:58 for example , even though you can cast Blitz on the enemy , it only procs after the ramp thingy comes into your sight , even if it's a slight fragment of it
I think many people are jealous because Grim Dawn has that option and some games does not (Dia...). I also prefer not to rotate camera but I its obvious the combat is easier when enemies approach from top left/right corners of the screen and not from the bottom. That is why I usually explore maps from the bottom to the top so that way I don't need to change camera position. The game kind of doing it by itself, for example Devil's Crossing situated in the bottom of the global map. p.s. that dash exploit though :)) p.p.s. Oh, I have a cool challenge for you! How about completing act 1 on Veteran with camera up close?
I always use camera rotation; mostly because it gives me more tactical oversight and control; I can see further and better; and also for the other reasons you mentioned. The engine does not quite like it however and there are some micro stutters from time to time as one rotates; but you get used to it.
I rotate the camera as well. I like that feature. Many hidden chest´s would not have been found without changing the point of view. I played with some friends and they don´t rotate the camera. I even had the rotation of the mini map on so that the direction i was looking at the mini map turned in that direction as well. Which led to confusing communications between my mates cause when i pointed out some positions to go they ran somewhere else :). PS: Do not pet Manticors ^^ PPS: Don´t be too hard on yourself you doing a great job. PPPS: I mean there is always something to improve but sometimes you just have to do it and let it happen. Most people learn from their mistakes. Cya

No rotating camera = the reason why i couldn't go back to PoE.
When you got a taste of full camera rotation, it's hard to go back.

GREAT WORK!! I will now be able to Play Grim Dawn
what do you have camera rotating bound to? Middle mouse button seems bad.

I didn't know camera rotation in grim dawn was possible, and I have many hours in that game
