Jon Heder (Napoleon Dynamite, Blades of Glory) joins us this week and talks about the feeling of ‘constantly being an outsider’ coming to Hollywood from a humble upbringing in the PNW and then heading back to Washington after years in the film industry. Jon shares some crazy stories from his family history that helped shape him into the anxiety and stress free man that he is today. We also get into (of course) our shared bond of horror, why Napoleon Dynamite never had a sequel, and Jon’s memorable run-ins with Will Ferrell, James Cameron, and Ali G.

How WILL FERRELL and JON HEDER Broke the Ice in BLADES OF GLORY #insideofyou #willferrell
Blades of Glory was so awesome, so underrated.
So cool that Will got up and was excited to see Jon that kind of made me tear up a bit.
......same
Blades of Glory was what i was thinking about ice dancing but was afraid to express! Elvis stoiko reminds me of Farells character! Genius!
the movie was mind-bottlingly good
Did you just say "mind bottling??"
@@RobinDale50 like when your mind is trapped inside of a bottle
Mind boggling.....
@@5jr.racing982 go watch the movie pal
It's when your thoughts get trapped inside a bottle
Blades of Glory is legit one of the best comedies of that era. Maybe ever. At least for me. Every part is perfectly cast, the plot is simple enough to let the jokes be the focus (as a good comedy should be), and just every joke lands. Love hearing Jon talk about it.
I think I'm gonna watch this movie again tonight. Cheers!
It came out at just a perfect time.
Cool to hear. I think that Will is a genuinely cool guy, nice to hear confirmation of it.
One of my all time favourite movies!
When Chazz Michael Michaels headbutt Jimmy MachElroy on the Podium 😮😊; Best passion in sport moment in World Figure Skating history
The two hot dogs in 1 bun😂😂😂😂
Will was sitting in a corner because the lone wolf rides alone
Those 2 should have done more movies together.
I wanna wear his skin...
Right? What could have been. From what Jon says here, it sounds like they pitched another one or tried to get one off the ground c. 2009-10, but it fell through.
The little details in the film when you rewatch it make it even funnier like some of the pictures in the background of scenes are so random
The fact that Stiller was supposed to be in it makes so much sense. I always liked Blades but never felt like a Ferrell movie
Yeah I always felt the same way, it never even really occurred to me when I was a kid that it was even him cause it’s such a different character then he usually plays
Then Ben would have thrown Heder at the end I'm guessing.
I would imagine they had to make completely different costumes for Will since he's a LOT taller than Ben is.
I felt the same way! lol. Stiller is a proper artiste.
@@joemckim1183 believe it or not will ferrell is actually slightly shorter than ben stiller. he only 'looks' taller because of the pleats
Will Ferrell was amazing in Stranger Than Fiction
Will Ferrell is right up there on the list of celebrities that I would love to hang out with
You would annoy him
@@forgottenmma3694 I get along with your mom just fine… I think I could get along with Will Ferrell too.
@@stevenqirkle pretty sure Will Farrell doesn’t want to get along with some ball fondler fan
Interesting that Ben Stiller was swapped for Will Farrell when Farrell's size and (on screen) ability to toss another man ended up being a key part of the plot
Another Jon Heder movie I grew up with, I fucking love that movie so much. That scene where they scissor each other on the ice and the whole scene where they’re practicing with each other makes me laugh to this day
(Edit: fuckin auto correct lol)
It’s a ben stiller movie. He produced it.
@@CKpremium1992 what a weird reply. don't people commonly refer to movies by who starred in them too lol. people also call this a will ferrell movie all the time
@@fortunamajor7239 low Iq
🤣🤣🤣 Yep I laughed hysterically!
They need to do another movie together.
The Interviewer gives nothing back when the question is answered, probably because he has never watched the film, it's sad because the connection that Will and Jon had on that movie was electrifying, and the film was very funny.
Watched it with my boy when he was around 5. It's a bit wrong (Let me put my Poems in you!) but he loved it. We've watched it so many times together since and it's lines have become part of our shared vocabulary over the years. Great movie.
This was an outstanding documentary.
Jon: (unsure) I *think* he liked me?
also Jon: *walks up to Will after +10 years apart and **4:05*
Safe to say Will more than likes Jon, he's half in love with him
Fucking love that movie
One of my favorite movies
4:12 Jon still has his siren powers after all these years
what a great dude!
great Lucas reference lol
I love Blades of Glory! Cult Classic
Time for Napoleon 2. And Will can be a 2nd cousin that works on mopeds for a living.
Til this day Blades of Glory is #7 on my top 10
1. The Godfather
2. Heat (1995)
3. The Shining
4. The Dark Knight
5. Top Gun Maverick
6. You Don’t Mess with the Zohan
7. Blades of Glory
8. Shawshank Redemption
9. Just Like Heaven (2006)
10. Rocky 3
From The Godfather to Zohan..pretty broad range bru
This list is wild
Lmao
Solid list
You don’t mess with the Zohan is in your top 10 movies of all time?
Wow
This movie is classic like a stack of classic Euro porn!
He seems like a guy who accidentally made it in Hollywood and he still can't believe it.
Ben Stiller is awesome but he wouldn't have fit that movie in the slightest! The cast was perfect from top to bottom!
Couple years ago. He probably had Covid.
Names. Holy crap, you used names. We can hear you yelling from here.
Didn't he play Napoleon dynamite
Michael looks bored in this interview. I think he wants to say come on John get on with it too many details. 🤣
yea, i did not notice the host but thus segment is rather rambly
This is a stupid question not according to public narrative because it’s not going unasked, can the editor be more condescending?
Everyone knows people in Hollywood are shallow, hollow people, but can you pretend a little more, it’s getting obvious.
Wait, never mind, shallow hollow people is back, continue on, great work!!!!
Why does Michael seem irritated or bored?
#bladesofglory2
Spit out the dang story lmao
Lol man he’s a horrible story teller
When I first read this comment I didn't get why you'd say that... I watched more and yeah, I know what you mean 😂 seems like a nice enough guy though
Stiller's ego would have destroyed that movie.
“Did you carve up some ice… with your wiener?”
Classic
😂
Great movie . I loved it and own it to watch whenever I want .
It’s funny how we here some good stories from celebrities. Then you see their Twitter account 😂
I too am incredibly curious about your interpretation of peoples tweets
Thank God Ben Stiller wasnt in it.
Agreed! In fact, I just feel like Stiller is a Will Ferrell wannabe. Don't come for me, people. It's just my opinion. 😂
Movie woulda been better with Ben Stiller. Damn. That sounds incredible. Not a will Ferrell fan.
absolutely not.
I love Ben Stiller but the character wouldn’t have suited him at all, but it suited Will Ferrel perfectly.
