Loved learning the origin of what the 5 spices represent! Great content on your channel. I learn so much from this channel and have been able to implement what I learn into my cooking. Thank you so much!!! 🙏🏼👍🏼

I love it on roasted chicken. Or pan fried crispy chicken thighs. I always have it at home.

5 spice is a must have in all Chinese homes. My mom mostly uses it to make 五香肉🐷🦐meat roll😋 and 卤鸭🦆/猪🐖肉braised duck/pork 😋 by the way, mom isn't Chinese but married to my teochew dad👫🏻

Love this, just be careful with the amounts or the bitterness from the star anise will ruin your dish!

I gotta buy this from an Asian supermarket. I always buy this from the local chain supermarket but for some reason never bought it at an Asian food store.

I bought 5-spice powder for the first time to make Mr. Lau's BBQ ribs. Still to this day it's one of my greatest memories when cooking. They were so good, we were just infatuated and had those ribs for dinner for several days that week 🥰🤣

It's called Garam Masala in India. Originally from the Gupta period I think.

I have some Chinese 5 spice and the related Japanese 7 spice in the cupboard to use. A nice blend of spices.

The ingredients are similar to Garam Masala a famous spice blend. However good quality Garam Masala also has dried rose petals. Btw all those spices are from India originally.

    "Next time you're cooking,..."😶
I guess you meant to say to use Chinese 5 spices ?
Which is delicious 😋 and now I'm interested to make a blend at home instead buying it after watching your video.

I think it's because the video is meant to loop (like if you watch it as a short) so it goes back to the beginning!

Don't hate the spice but, over here we have ngo Hiang as a dish. Hate that dish with a passion which taste basically the spice with meat spring roll. Yes, you read it correctly, spice with meat spring roll, not meat spring roll with spice
