Hey man excellent build, looking forward to the upcoming videos! I received two cabs from Chino a few months back and have been slowly working through upgrades on them, videos like yours have been hugely inspiring, thanks for posting!
Amazing build love it, good to see another Aussie into Vewlix Arcade Machines. I recently done my Vewlix as well but went with consoles inside due to already owning all the games and systems. That second screen is epic on yours wish I could do that. I need to do some research on how to do that volume knob because I always have to open the machine to adjust the sound.
Volume dial is easy, it's just an in line RCA volume dial. If you're using HDMI for your sound though... not really sure how you would do it, you'd need a different device.
@@DreMatador The inline volume control that i use takes rca in/out, so if you have rca in your chain, then you can just connect it inline and it should work. Couldn't live without my volume dial! too many different sound levels across games.
Great work! I am curently restoring my vewlix clone cabinet that i made from scratch ( not a chewlix). And i can see some commons points between your build and mine. 😉
Love the marquee mate! Looks awesome. I suppose you’re also in Australia or maybe NZ by the accent? I just placed an order with Chino last night and should be getting mine in NSW in a month. Very excited and planning on making some small tweaks - mostly replacing the monitor and connecting either a pc or my ps4/ps5 at some point. Just checking if you’re really in AU/NZ to get some tips on where to get parts from locally. I’m sure I’ll need a little box or some cables here and there lol. Cheers
It can be done very cleanly, i made a video when i did that, check my older videos. Just do it slowly if you decide to go ahead with it, it's probably my favourite mod. This one came through Chino Chan a few years back. The control panels are a bit wider than a widebody pin, so they feel a little weird at first, but i'm so used to it now it just feels normal.
Hi there. Thanks so much for the detailed video. I am in the process of doing something very similar (have a Chewlix on the way and just ordered a TTX3 and a Fast I/O board. Two quick questions (1) did you need any special cabling to connect the Fast IO board to the power supply? I know it connects to the TTX via ethernet but not sure if the board I ordered will be coming with a power connector. (2) did the Jamma harness from the Chewlix work automatically with the Fast I/O board? Or did you have to change any pins? Thanks again!
1. It draws its power from the jamma , so long as you purchased the jamma fastio. No extra connector needed, except you will need a harness for button 6 for both players. Jamma only does 5. 2. Chewlix jamma is standard jamma usually. Should connect straight in.
@@arcadestuffThanks so much! Do you know what the 4 pin connectors for P1 and P2 on the Fast IO board are? Wiring diagram mentioned power in and power out.
Looks fantastic, can I ask how you managed to wire the additional control panel volume pot into the cab speakers. I can buy an amp with speaker terminals but I can’t find one with wire only bindings for the control panel volume pot! I’m sure I’m just being thick but any help would be much appreciated!🙌
I used an RCA in-line volume controller. It connects inline with your audio out cable and amp. This is the exact one i used. I removed the dial, got a 3rd party aluminium one and hot glued it under the sub panel. I also got a small rubber grommet to put in the hole so it's more sturdy. Between the hot glue and the rubber grommet it's not going anywhere. You can get cheaper ones, and they all do basically the same thing. www.wagneronline.com.au/rca-remote-line-level-controller/audio-installation-components/automotive/apalcc-101822/1008007/pd/
Godbless you sir!!😅 So sorry to sound stupid here but this is sitting between your amp and ttx3 pc I mean ttx3 audio into this and then audio out connections to amp!😳
@@pyjama9556 My setup is a little difficult to explain without pictures. Correct though... line out stereo from the pc, then i use an adaptor that splits from headphone to rca and feed it into the volume inline controller then into the amp. speakers are powered via the amp. The sub has it's own amp inside it. It's an active sub. I use a small stereo splitter that connects to the TTX3 line out and it just splits the connector from 1 headphone jack to 2. 1 lot of stereo wires gotot the in line volume contrrol, the other lot of wires go to the sub directly. Bypassing the amp you see. It's not the best hardware pairing an amp with an active sub but it all fit and i've tuned it well now so it all works.
Can you please upload the code or a link to be able to add a dmd marquee for a taito x3 also any possibility of showing how this is done …. Look really good !
I don't think there is one, placement was very tedious! I saw somewhere someon had made a pre cut pop in bracket for the area between the 2 speakers, i cant recall where but someone has done it so you dont have to cut your own.
i'm trying to find those same usb plugs for my vewlix but searching for those is like a needle in a haystack, do you have a partname or website like i could use?
I don't know the exact ones, but they still use pretty old hardware. Even the new games use the Sega ALLS platform which is king of old hardware. Most of the games run at 720p resolution so they don't need much power to run them. 4k is where it's at though :) 720p is so 2003!
Chewlix usually come wired for 6 buttons, but it's just loose wires or wired using some random connector. There's no cps2 harness that i've ever seen stock on these. You'll need to connect your own harness to the wires.
@@arcadestuff ok ,not with Euro ? About your Marquee LCD ,wich one you order please , the link you give before is not for one but a complete page...thank you ! ....about your multi Real interested by the one you get 👍

Love the dynamic marquee and the pinball buttons on the side!!!! 🔥🔥🔥

I have ordered one too from Chino chan. I was thinking whether to drill holes on side for pinball. Kind of confuse.

Fellow Aussie, where did you get your Chewlix from? (Sorry if you mentioned that in the video 😅)
Direct from chino chan on Facebook. I think prices have gone waaaaay up since I got mine though.
