A few clarifications on the comments to this video: We have now sailed some 6.000 nm with Manyeleti including the delivery from Finland to Palma and a few longer trips is the Med. I can obviously confirm that this is a dream Long Distance Cruising Boat that we intend to sail around the world in a few years time following our previous trip from Mallorca to Sydney in a Baltic 56. A few things to clarify: Yes, there is a dinghy garage and it stores a forward facing 3.2 meter aluminium rib with a 20 hp mounted. Yes, there is an anchor with 100 meters of chain Yes, there is a very big and well built spray hood. Same fabric as Oyster uses. Yes, there is a carbon fiber, custom built, semi-fixed bimini, 2*2 meters over the forward part of the cockpit. It has been mounted 24/7 since we left Holland in June with the only exception being most of the photoshoots. It can be extended over the aft part of the cockpit with a canvas when in port. It is absolutely great! No, there is no shade over the steering position when sailing since it is virtually impossible to get on such a wide boat. On the other hand, you tend to spend very little time at the wheel offshore. A very big difference between light boats like this Baltic and most heavier traditional cruising boats is that it actually sails in the prevailing conditions, 10-15 knots downwind, that you have on a westbound round the world trip.

I love the view from the stern, you can see how well she flows through the water. There is very little wake coming out the back. Also, could not but help note how precise the autopilot was, it makes constant changes to the wheel like it is actually reading the wind. Thumbs up !
As one who has been banged up offshore, the addition of a hard dodger/steering station as on an Amel is appreciated. It gets cold at night even in the tropics.

We have a really solid fixed bimini over the forward part of the cockpit and a massive dodger. We use bimini year-round and the dodger in bad weather. Bimini van extend aft with canvas. The yard don’t like of pressmaterial.

Loved the interior but I felt it was very unsafe on deck. Especially being completely in the open with weather and the low rail...can you say MULTI-MILLIONAIRE OVERBOARD!
Awesome boat. There are a few things that I would change, but not many, and those are just preferences anyway. I would put in the wrap around wheel at the helm, so that I don't have to reach through the wheel to fiddle with the electronics and controls. There is plenty of room to add a nice sauna. A small mizzen mast just to reduce rolling and wetted area under power, or to more easily balance the sail plan. Pretty minor items, actually. I love the lines and the open deck. The colors are exquisite!
Marshall Doyle 80meter? Are you shore it’s 80 meter? How many people will gonna run that one and how much will be just in expenses to running it? Does it comes with own charter agency?
Thorfinn986_doesn't_do_average I did some basic engineering estimates and one of the issues with scaling the catamarans in the width between the two hulls. So you can’t make it super wide like you would normally, this also means that you have to fundamentally change the hull shape to a more narrow option because of the amount of turbulence generated by having the hulls close.
I don't know about that, I'd still prefer the Amel 60, the inclosed cockpit the owners cabin at the stern, the layout of the salon and the galley in the Amel still sells it for me. Oh god will my lotto numbers ever come in!!
Keeling depth only ahead of the mast. The lateral resistance ahead of the mast and midpoint between the mast and forestay is the rudder control and sail power of a sailboat design. Ballasted upright and properly keeled headsails and mast. The simple rigging is great and the lean Deck is easy living.
Edison generators or dynamos would be better power generation and motoring power. You could have unlimited range electric power motoring and unlimited RO reverse osmosis. The Edison generators are permanent magnet motor as generator and you can add inverters to deliver house current AC or more generators for more current. As any amount of current and voltage AC power continuous peak power is possible without fuel or recharge or plastic solar panels.

Yup! The first thing I would have to do (if I were the lucky owner) is ruin those beautiful, modern lines with a big ol' ugly dodger (and see-thru/canvas over the helm stations). Funny, I don't think the designers ever considered cruising SE BC/Alaska! ;) Would be surprised if this extremely sea-worthy boat made it out of the Med (which is kind of a shame).
Just put on a nice boom tent, gives you lots of shade. There is already helm protection on the boat. But when they are filming, its down, so you can see the lines of the boat. The time i have been fishing from the Azores, there's lots of world sailors. And i rarely see boats like this. Most of them are older boats !! Just saying 👍
Please read my clarifications. There is a solid bimini that has been mounted 24/7 since July 2018 with the photoshoots being the only exemption. Protects from sun, rain and morning moisture (winter time). It is fixed with four carbon legs = no Oyster mishmash of stainless steel and ropes.
Beautiful boat, but for me, nothing can beat a catamaran. The dual hull by itself is a must because you immediately lose the tilt you get sailing with a monohull vessel. With a dual hull you also get width/surface area that you don’t have with a monohull. Makes for a much more enjoyable sailing experience in my opinion.
i cant believe this is a yacht built for an experienced sailor who intends long-distance cruising in it. no good for more than fine-weather daysailing in the med.

I don't know when recessed furlers came out but they're so nice! Anything that cleans up the clutter inherent to a sailboat is a welcome addition, but the recessed furler really makes a difference! Are there any drawbacks to a recessed furler? Besides possibly having to buy a new sail? Thank you That foam sandwich couch top that he said weighs nothing...I remember 30 years ago that companies were creating and testing crazy new materials for boats. They had 24" square marble tiles that weighed next to nothing because they were faux marble..but they really looked like marble! This was at the Miami boat show. I can't imagine what they have now.
This doesn't look like a couples long distance cruiser to me. More like a racer with some comfort. A really nice long distance cruiser manageable by a couple is the CONTEST 67 cs. Great yacht, easier to manage, and the inside looks a lot nicer.

Perhaps Baltic is an important advertiser and poor ole Tony was required to get couple, cruising and custom into every sentence. Any survey of cruisers highlights several consistent wants in a cruising boat. Protection from the elements, more solar, more space to store stuff that can't fit down below and the ability to repair anything anywhere. This boat has none of these so I can't see this being considered a cruising boat. Instruments on the mast? Another important cruising requirement for a couple. Not. This is just poncy race tat. Not dissimilar to the bell end who fits a spoiler to his Toyota Camry. Anyone spot an anchor? This is sort of important for a cruising boat. You would also need to run a generator 24/7. Not something any cruiser I've ever met wants. So just call it a nice custom race boat that has some creature comforts. But please don't call it a cruising yacht for a couple.
Agree!, 67ft is big, but inside everything looks more like a 40ft. Also no views on the sail from inside. Sailing the world with me love for a long time now but this would NOT be my dreamboat!
There is a dingy garage in the stern with a fold-down launching and swim platform. There is also a swing up anchor sprit in the bow to get the anchor cleanly stowed and swung out far enough from the sharply vertical bow.

I would be reluctant to go on a daysail let alone make an ocean passage on this yacht. No protection for the crew from the weather. Open decks, how do you clip in anywhere on the yacht. No place for dingy either storage or operation. Sure the yacht is steered at sea by autopilot yet you still need someone on watch to keep an eye on things. This yacht looks to me to be as uncomfortable as heck to operate and, “all hat, no cattle.” I will watch from ashore thank you.
You are just talking out of your ass. This boat is made for sailing short-handed by a very experienced couple. And of course the boat has a dinghy onboard. I guess you are like me, you stay on land, cus you can't afford this blue-water sailboat 😂
Stunning boat but some questinable features for my tastes. That mainsheet arrangement looks lethal - i could imagine an unexpected gybe resulting in a slack mainsheet taking out one of the helm pedestals (and the helmsman) as it sweeps over. Ouch!
indeed, it's not really set up for real-world cruising. I mean you can cruise on a hobie cat too. I suppose they could put up a bimini or a dodger for it.
I like a cockpit table as large as possible as I like to entertain outside as much as possible, she is beautiful though the only thing I would say is comfortable outside dining is a must !
Not a good idea. Boats have 4 sources of energy: shore power, AC generator, DC generator (engine alternator), and renewable like solar, wind, hydro generator. Off the docks, you remove shore power so that leaves you with three. Remove both AC and DC power generators and go purely electric propulsion (100% renewable), you are left with alternative sources of energy. Solar is the most common option but you will be severely limited by the amount of space you can mount the panels on. A 400W solar panel measures around 1.8m in length and 1m in width! On a monohull like this yacht, you have no space at all except hang them at the back of the vessel. Smaller panels on the other hand produce very little energy so you will need more but dont have the space. Wind generators are just the same with the largest putting out around 250-300W and you cannot mount them just anywhere on your boat. Lastly, hydro generators are only good if there is a good amount of current or when you are sailing - it does nothing if you are at anchor. Purely renewable systems may work particularly if you have a small battery bank, say 400Ah but you will sacrifice a lot of comfort on board and will have limited range. You have to remember that as you charge, you are also using battery energy to run everything on the boat so you have be wary of the net charge that goes into your battery banks - too little and you run the risk of being stranded in the middle of the sea because your batteries ran out.
My sentiment exactly: Perfect for bluewater cruising as long as the weather's nice, but I don't want to be the helmsman in rough weather on that ship. No thanks, I'll rather continue to dream about a new Hallberg-Rassy 57. If I ever call one of those beauties mine, I'll probably name her "Lottery Hit", LOL.
On the boat you can’t hear the engine running at 1.800 rpm. It is V6 Steyr that is almost completely free of vibrations. Have forgotten it on in idle several times.
how much is this ? this is 67 feet ? how can 2 people operate this big sailboat safely ?? i thought max was like 53 feet for couples to be able to handle safely ?
I sail Manyeleti regularly, without any hesitation, with my wife or my teenage kids. She is a lot easier and safer to handle than my previous Baltic 50 and 56 thanks to the furling boom and bow & stern thruster.
Best place is on top of the bimini where we could fit 4 sqm. To small to really add power to a boat this size. Building today I would look at an electrical drive unit that can charge while. Average speed when crusing is +10=lot of power.

Beautiful but not a good layout for me. A super maramu layout in the rear would have better. The rest of the boat is stunning. I agree with the previous chap, more protection from the elements up topside is needed for long passages especially in the roaring forties.

I would be reluctant to go on a daysail let alone make an ocean passage on this yacht. No protection for the crew from the weather. Open decks, how do you clip in anywhere on the yacht. No place for dingy either storage or operation. Sure the yacht is steered at sea by autopilot yet you still need someone on watch to keep an eye on things. This yacht looks to me to be as uncomfortable as heck to operate and, “all hat, no cattle.” I will watch from ashore thank you.

Stunning boat but some questinable features for my tastes. That mainsheet arrangement looks lethal - i could imagine an unexpected gybe resulting in a slack mainsheet taking out one of the helm pedestals (and the helmsman) as it sweeps over. Ouch!

indeed, it's not really set up for real-world cruising. I mean you can cruise on a hobie cat too. I suppose they could put up a bimini or a dodger for it.
How much extra would it weigh if built with materials other than carbon fibre?
Manyeletis hull is e-glass/epoxy in order to keep noise levels down (vs Carbon/epoxy). Extra weight was c. 800 kg.

I like a cockpit table as large as possible as I like to entertain outside as much as possible, she is beautiful though the only thing I would say is comfortable outside dining is a must !
Hi! What is your take on going 100% renewable (no diesel gen) on a power yacht?
Not a good idea. Boats have 4 sources of energy: shore power, AC generator, DC generator (engine alternator), and renewable like solar, wind, hydro generator. Off the docks, you remove shore power so that leaves you with three. Remove both AC and DC power generators and go purely electric propulsion (100% renewable), you are left with alternative sources of energy. Solar is the most common option but you will be severely limited by the amount of space you can mount the panels on. A 400W solar panel measures around 1.8m in length and 1m in width! On a monohull like this yacht, you have no space at all except hang them at the back of the vessel. Smaller panels on the other hand produce very little energy so you will need more but dont have the space. Wind generators are just the same with the largest putting out around 250-300W and you cannot mount them just anywhere on your boat. Lastly, hydro generators are only good if there is a good amount of current or when you are sailing - it does nothing if you are at anchor. Purely renewable systems may work particularly if you have a small battery bank, say 400Ah but you will sacrifice a lot of comfort on board and will have limited range. You have to remember that as you charge, you are also using battery energy to run everything on the boat so you have be wary of the net charge that goes into your battery banks - too little and you run the risk of being stranded in the middle of the sea because your batteries ran out.

Thats a decision by the yard. We have a solid bimini that has been mounted for two years except for photo-shoots.

No thanks, I'll rather continue to dream about a new Hallberg-Rassy 57. If I ever call one of those beauties mine, I'll probably name her "Lottery Hit", LOL.

On the boat you can’t hear the engine running at 1.800 rpm. It is V6 Steyr that is almost completely free of vibrations. Have forgotten it on in idle several times.

I sail Manyeleti regularly, without any hesitation, with my wife or my teenage kids.
She is a lot easier and safer to handle than my previous Baltic 50 and 56 thanks to the furling boom and bow & stern thruster.
why not add solar on a long distance cruiser?
Best place is on top of the bimini where we could fit 4 sqm. To small to really add power to a boat this size.
Building today I would look at an electrical drive unit that can charge while. Average speed when crusing is +10=lot of power.

Beautiful but not a good layout for me. A super maramu layout in the rear would have better. The rest of the boat is stunning. I agree with the previous chap, more protection from the elements up topside is needed for long passages especially in the roaring forties.
Try a trip around the Horn, in the roaring 40's with that bow, then get back to me.
