"Every time we drink, it smashes our self-esteem." Nailed it!!

Sometimes I regret quitting drinking because I see everything so clearly that is really happening in the world and it gets depressing.

One month sober today after 15 years here and there I would stop for 30 days but now I’m quitting for good facing my trauma and problems head on instead of forgetting about them with alcohole and not doing anything about it and waking up hungover for no reason

    1 day sober.

Two months sober...then drank wine and beer at weekend but very much controlled. Happy with that back in the wagon.

I was a weekend spirits drinker for 20 years.i have been stopped about 4 years ago.the first 2 were hell ,with withdrawls and depression.i have no interest in drinking again.BUT it all depends on the individual. Its about knowing yourself.if you can control it and never overdo it then why not drink?its all about knowing yourself.i was the problem because i have always been a all or nothing person.i should have never drank in the first place, trouble was it took me 20 years to admit it to myself.but i am not part of tbis narrative that nobody should drink or smoke.its all about self control.

That's what I picked up from Brad Pitt's reasons from one of your previous vids. He wanted to face himself, the difficult emotions. For me, at day 50, as the physical stuff is beaten, these feelings are beginning to surface and it does scare me. A couple of big -ve things have passed, the smells of early spring remind me of a failed romance. I have to be a pro under pressure. Man, all that makes me feel like a drink. But I feel stronger if I don't. Fronting up feels real and I want it.

Great video. I struggle with the same thing.

Hi Leon, don't laugh but I drank since I was 2 up until 8 months ago and I will be 72 in June this year. I quit with no issues e.g. withdrawal which surprised me and people I know. I had planned to do myself in using drink and. modeling myself on Nicholas Cage in "Leaving Las Vegas" I went one further than him with my own distillery. On tap, retired, alone, no financial worries I could settle down and execute the plan. One morning, June 15 2023, I rose from my bed and could hardly stand from giddiness, my blood pressure was at 200/140, it was at that moment I decided to bottle out (sorry for the pun 😂) where am I going with this? People ask me how I do it, stay off the alcohol ? I think the only way to stop without pain is to be frightened of it. Great show Leon and Thanks

  • @jenn26134

    I did exactly this. Omggg

Leon, another amazing video. I still drink. Work full time making six figures and launched a TH-cam channel called “Home in the Range” where I share easy tips to manage type one diabetes. ETOH has a grip and I really want to quit. Love the content creation now more then ever because I know how challenging it is and believe I could being it up a notch if alcohol was not a part of my life. Keep it up! Sincerely, Trevor

    I sympathise with you…

I drink to deal with heartbreak but when I try to go sober I have to deal with it so I usually can make it almost two days but after that I get hammered I hope I can get control of my drinking because about a month ago I almost lost my life to drinking I tend to like to hang out on the streets when I drink I honestly don't know why but anyways I was at a park at
