Harriet’s wobbly wobbly run is mega cute.

We really need a "director's cut" version of the movie with all the scenes...would certainly help fill in some of those gaps

Concordo, assistir o filme e parece realmente que muita cena foi tirada do filme

This is quite an important scene because Frank is making Emma feel as if she is in his confident and special friend.
Jane knows this scoundrel is really mocking Emma and her presumptuous false notions regarding Mr Dixon and Jane.
    Cheeky blighter.
Later after we learn Frank’s real intentions ….we discover Frank’s was continually looking for excuses to hang out at the Bates home ie fixing glasses so he could be near Jane.

In the final cut, there was a mention of borrowing scissors. I did not notice, until I read your comment, that it was an excuse to be near Jane. Clever.

nice to see they had filmed the glasses fixing scene from the book, though I don't have any idea why Emma was in such a determined hurry to visit jane!

because Mrs Weston insinuated that Mr Knightley had given her the piano so Emma is anxious to see it to placate her jealousy, I think lol in fact, in the end of this scene Miss Bates mentions the fact Mr Knightley gifted them all his apples so when Emma was forgetting about Mrs Weston's speculations, she gets a hint of Mr Knightley's consideration for Jane (it's so funny they put his gift right below Jane's new piano too LOL).

I really like that exchange of glances at 2:16 - 2:18 between Miss Bates and Mrs Bates; they are not nearly so oblivious as people imagine them to be. (And why would they be? They've known Jane since she was a little girl.)

The first tune Jane plays is what Emma and Frank danced to at the ball. It’s in the soundtrack. I think Jane is brooding over that time because Frank was acting the careless flirt a little too well.

Why did they cut most of janes scenes. Feels like she was barely in the film and had no personality

out of all the deleted scenes, feel like this one really needs to be in the movie for the BIG HINTS it drops about Frank Churchill and Jane Fairfax.

This piano nerd would like to thank the filmmakers for casting a proper pianist for the role of Jane!!! ❤🙏🏻 nice to finally see someone actually playing the music 🎹

He said, 'you've come to find me to be useful? Come, tell me if I succeed'. Is this how the gentlemen speak in those days? Omg, what a beautiful way to express oneself. I think people speak in such a lazy pedestrian ways nowadays.

It doesn't fit with the rest of the vibe of the movie, but I like this scene because it shows that Jane is bothered by Frank's words

It must be worrisome for Jane to see Frank who is a single man flitting with the young very attractive. There is nothing to stop him attempting to woo Emma further even all the way to the altar.

He is reprehensible. I am sorry for poor Jane, I am afraid that he was torturing her in their marriage, and that she was, in a way, a "prisoner" of his.

I read the book in 2016, I was 14. It waa for my A levels exams. I felt sad for Jane Fairfax; Emma (2020) makes me feel even worse for her. Frank Churchill was so annoying

This was a good scene from the book, don't know why they left it out. That's why I hate two hour movies. They cut so much.

After the first ball, I think, the one where the gossip is that Jane was given a pianoforte and Emma and Churchill are discussing whether she might've had something with Mr Dixon. That's what he jokes about here

    • @preggioperson

      Summary: Chapter 28
Emma enters the Bates’ sitting room and finds Frank occupied with fixing Mrs. Bates’s glasses and Jane seated at the piano. Frank asks Jane questions about how she imagines the piano came to her, and his comment, “True affection only could have prompted it,” makes Jane blush. Believing that Frank is teasing Jane unkindly about Mr. Dixon, Emma whispers that he should stop, and she regrets having shared her speculations about Jane with him. Mr. Knightley stops by to check on Jane’s health but refuses to come in when he hears that Frank is there…. This scene then is after the Cole’s party. About half way through the book.😊Enjoy🙂

A movie just to be looked at .The movie stills look good . A disaster as a Jane Austen adaptation .
