8:13 Interesting trivia: the reason why the kills in this movie pale in comparison to the first two is because this movie was made one year after the tragic Columbine school shooting, and naturally, it caused a debate on whether violence in horror movies would inspire copycat killers (which was of course brought up in Scream 2 with Timothy Olyphant’s character). So, obviously, the violence was toned down for Scream 3 in light of that tragedy, and I can kind of see where the filmmakers were coming from. The two sick young boys that committed the Columbine shooting seemed very much like the real-life Billy and Stu. Also fun piece of trivia: originally Angelina (the “Sidney” actress character played by Emily Mortimer) was going to be the second Ghostface killer and Roman’s accomplice: her motivation being that she idolized Sidney and wanted to steal her fame and attention, and when she got killed, it was supposed to be a fake-out death before the reveal. In fact, the movie was allegedly shot with the initial reveal, but they changed it so that Roman is the only Ghostface
Fun fact about Scream 3 is Wes Craven the director himself was considered for the role of John Milton but prefered not to be and stuck with just directing and thats when Lance Henrickson came on board and accepted the role.
My guess is that Roman was meant to die and not meant to be the Ghost Killer at all. Which is why you find him dead at first until things changed during rewrites and reshoots. Making his false death too convoluted to bear.
Since you are actually going to review all the transformers movies when rise of the beasts comes out I hope to see if you like the first Michael bay transformers film from 2007 I heard it was a really good movie.
Yes, maybe as a proper whodunit it's not as good as first two movies, but in the movie's defence it was written and rewritten many times on the go, as studio really rushed the production. In my humble opinion for a movie that was rushed and f*cked by the studio in post Columbine landscape, Craven and his crew did a solid job. I wish all other franchises to have such "weak" entries like Scream 3!
Oh crap, you’re actually going to review the Transformers movies in June?! I’m praying for you🤣🤣Does that also mean you’ll watch The Last Knight for the first time? If so, I fear even more for you, it IS WAY worse than Revenge of the Fallen

Ah…thank you for putting things in context
I tried watching Scream 3 on cable years ago and I thought about watching it on Prime in October 2020.

Interesting. I feel like that would’ve been too far in terms of the Meta nature of this series
Its easily weakest link of Scream franchise, but i dont think its that bad.
Its just ok for me.
Great review Alex and take care and stay safe 👍.

Then the simply solution would be to cut out his “dead” body to begin with

I haven’t seen it since I got it on DVD in 2009, so I’m interested to see how I feel about that one more than the others.

Will sid get pregnant with mark babies?
According to Scream (2022), that’s what exactly happened
