Due to the differential in how much a pound(or dollar) is worth compared to some foreign currencies. Why in the modern world w all this tech (western union etc) would you risk your family dying when you could do it yourself.
Once they’re nationalised via either asylum or refugee policy they can then appeal for their family to be brought over as it’s “unethical” to keep families apart.
This is what a large portion of legal or illegal immigrants do.
The governors shipping illegal aliens to other cities has had a huge effect. Many of these northern Democrat cities didn’t believe there was a problem until they got a small dose of what many Southern and Southwest states have been going through for decades.

Yeah, the upper middle classes have been shielded from it for a long time. They are all for importing the entire 3rd word, until they arrive in their backyard. Until then, illegal immigrants just disappeared into the ether, but all of a sudden, it's the governments fault or the nation's fault, for starting conflicts in unspecified parts of the world, when it is not even clear to anyone where the mass of people have arrived from, with documents of proof, destroyed.

I've said this before and I'll say it again. If a country is so bad off people need to flee it for their own safety, to live. Why are these young men coming alone and leaving behind women and children? And why would anyone want the kind of men who'd abandon women and children .... their grandmothers, mothers, sisters, aunts and literally own children to conditions that are so horrible they had to flee them?
Good question... Hadn't considered that line of thought before.
There are so many of them. imagine, those folks have often more than 4 or 5 children. So they send the sons that would otherwise not find a place in their home country. The „last third“ as we say here, the more or less obsolete members of the society…. And now we have them here. Really not an enrichment, economically, culturally and security wise….
Your family wants to send one person to Europe, thousands of km dangerous travel, needing to deal with traffickers. Who do you send? Your 17yo daughter? Your wife? Or your 19yo son...
The model is pretty simple. One hopes to find refuge and economic stability in a first world country, so he can send money home (where it is worth lot more) and bring the family over safely at a later date. It's not funny but it is true.

I believe immigrants have overstayed their welcome. When certain people heard someone crossed the border because they wanted a better life, they felt Ok, what’s the harm. But when 12 million showed up and stayed even those people thought “now we don’t have the better life anymore because we’ve given it away to everybody and his brother”. Keep them coming and you’ll have kaos.

Really, the only mistake in your comment is about Trump. I never liked Peterson, but these days he has become a voice of reason, amongst the terrible "woke" epidemic sweeping our English-speaking shores. Trump, however, is a pandering clown. Whenever I see someone being offended or triggered by a comedian. I am compelled to watch. I know I am in for a good laugh: not just at the humorous content, but also at the people who “choose” to be offended. Ricky is fearless. He will say what is funny unapologetically. We all need to learn to,laugh at ourselves again, if only because of all the rest of humanity is laughing at us.

People aren't waking up. They just realize there are a LOT of people who think like they do.
I’m thankful that, for the vast majority of things, I don’t have to go through the long ordeal of understanding many things the way so many do. I’m referring to this order of arriving at the solution.
1. Hear about problem (illegal immigration)
2. Slowly hear rumors that it isn’t new.
3. Continue disbelief in those rumors.
4. Hear opposition say it’s a dangerous thing.
5. Solidify my opinion that it’s all BS.
6. Finally see proof that it could be an issue.
7. Assume it’s all racist.
8. Start seeing immigrants in every building of every town and small community in every state at every turn no matter where you look so you go out to a rural unincorporated community with a population of less than 300 and you see 50 immigrants in 45 minutes and your head explodes because you were wrong from day one and suddenly your government tells you there are over 25 million illegal immigrants here and you are shocked.
Yeah, I didn’t have to go through all those steps.

There are African countries that take on more immigrants than the US does when you take population size into account.

You’re free to go. I said to the judge, “ I was at war with them three years ago, why would I want to sneak them in my own country? My next door neighbour is an Iraqi and snook into the country on an axle of a trailer over twenty years ago. Nicest guy you’ll ever meet, Christian too. Turns out when we swapped war stories, in Baghdad he did a runner when we came in. Explosives expert too. Now, we need to gympy the dinghies full of the brain surgeons with 7.62 mm😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
