Even though getting rid of affirmitive action is something that should have happened many years ago. Don't forget the Democrats and the black people that align with that party, recently added even more racist policies through what they are calling DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion). This is a group of DEI people that oversee, and hire others to fulfill positions based on skin color. They do not look at merit, they will fill positions solely based on skin color. Merit should always be the first option, regardless of skin color. So now we need to get rid of these recently added racist DEI policies as well.

My wife attended a historically black college to obtain her nursing degree. There were only a handful of white students, my wife being one of them. I can assure you racism goes in both directions. My wife was spat at, ridiculed, blocked on the sidewalk trying to go to her next class, verbally abused, being told she did not belong there, etc. It was shameful for the black culture to treat her like this, oftentimes moving her to tears.

Thank you. My wife was one of the most gentle, kind-hearted, loving people you could ever meet. She was born to be a nurse, she knew this from the time she was a child. Her patients and fellow staff loved her. I still get emotional after so many years of what she went through to become the one to give grace to those suffering and at the end of life . @@TheSeedpearl

Some black people eg Morgan Freeman, Denzel Washington, Thomas Sowell, are black, end of; no big deal. The term "the establishment" was common in the sixties. And as you correctly point out they have taken it over. But since they grew up with this underdog mentality (and feelings of righteousness ) they can't let go of those feelings, which now are just self righteousness.
It's because they suddenly realize they don't deserve it and are totally over their head.
I worked at a major Company for 35 years. There was a Black man hired under Affirmative Action in the 70's. He was there for 15 years and did1/5th the work of anyone else at that company yet, he could NOT be fired under Affirmative Action laws. The Company hired a Black Supervisor specifically to fire him but, under AA laws, even a Black Supervisor had no authority to fire him. Eventually, I retired. I heard 8 years later the man hired under AA retired as well, collecting a nice pension after doing 1/5th the work of others. Affirmative Action laws were unconstitutional and gave an advantage to those that would normally NOT qualify for the same job or College admissions. Glad to see Affirmative Action gone.
One point rarely if ever made, is that a particular "quota" hire to fill a spot (and a checkmark on a politically-ambitious-but-utterly-useless-manager's EV) was also just a chunk of dead weight that eroded the workplace and reflected badly all around, and had actually ended up taking up that "quota" spot from an actual meritorious "quota"-type candidate who did not get the job. All these years later it still stinks to recall that..
Sorry to burst your bubble, but AA is not gone. This SCOTUS case was only about using AA as a basis for college admissions decisions. 41 of our 50 states still allow this in hiring. It's a definite blow to AA overall, but not a death knell.

I’m a 70 year old white male with a graduate degree, a bad case of ADD and dyslexia. Nobody ever gave me a break in school. I worked my ass off to the degree I became clinically OCD in order to push myself to do slightly above a B +. But NOBODY helped me. Not even teachers because their level of narcissism directed them to pay attention to minority or genius level students, that made them feel good about themselves. Michelle would be nowhere without being the presidents wife. She is perched on his shoulders.

Another problem with Affirmative action is that it assumes all of the poor people that dont have access to better schools and facilities are black and that white people dont grow up in these conditions too. Im from an old mining town in England and we were living in very dire circumstances for decades after Thatcher closed down the coal pits. If only we had some of this white privilage I keep hearing about..

Affirmative action is awful. In my sons workplace a guy who graduated as an engineer from NC State, who is black, had no idea what he was doing. The techs were smarter and knew more than this person with a BS degree in engineering. He would also arrive late and leave early for work; leave visiting customers he was supposed to explain testing to, to sit there while he went out for lunch. There was a lot more, but none of these are actions by a young man who just got a BS in engineering from a difficult school to get into (I know it is only NC state but believe me they act like they are Yale). the company finally fired him after a year and customers writing letters to complain about his conduct and lack of knowledge. No way did he actually earn this degree or should have even been in the program.

I got into a college that was beyond my reach. I didn't have the grades to get in. I didn't get strong SAT scores. I was not an athlete. But, I got in.
The reason why I got in (and graduated from) was because I did some research on the community service program the college hosts. When I wrote my essay, I was honest. I said my grades were not good. But, if they accept me, I will volunteer with their community service program and even take a leadership opportunity if one presents itself.
I made a promise. They accepted me. I stuck to my promise for all four years. I graduated.
