    It’s so refreshing to see such a huge city build with beautiful and very creative custom buildings instead of the hundreds of Lego cities that use the same official modulars

      I have no problem with people making modular cities I’m happy that they can get their hands on these wonderful sets ✌️ My issue is with people who show their modular cities like if it was a huge Moc they made while they just followed instructions. Though I like to see how people figure out what building they want to put next to each other and build road plates

    In my 27 years of building Lego, this is the most impressive build I have ever seen. I have seen builds that are bigger, sure, but for the level of detail, intricacy, creativity, and overall thematically and aesthetic appeal, this is easily #1. Bravo lads.

  • @Nphen
    @Nphen 2 ปีที่แล้ว +51

    If you pause 20:52 you get perhaps one of the greatest cross-sections ever constructed in Lego, with 6 distinct levels for minifigs to travel on. A boat in the water, connecting to a lower roadway/dock level. Then the main road level. Monorail. Main & upper pedestrian walkways. With police flyers on platforms between walkways. Truly breathtaking. Add in the lighting, motion & screens, and you get a new standard for convention builds; the absolute top bar for cyberpunk. This unlocked my imagination with potential for a castle convention build. What great ways to use unique elements. Send them your weird pieces!

    What an absolutely superb composition throughout the design. I can't say enough about it. It's incredibly difficult to create something so chaotic and yet so well balanced as this. You've got to deal with color contrasts, value contrasts, textural variations, lines, spatial rhythms and patterns in all three dimensions, and patterns of movement (given the moving parts they incorporated). Just SOOOOO much to try to control, all the while packing in countless details that capture the frenetic vibes of a complex city. These guys KILLED it!!! Bravo!!

    The fact that at 51:16 there's a whole new building that wasn't even visible after like 50 minutes, only shown for a few seconds... that for a normal BTB video wouls be talked about for 10 minutes.. what a crazy collab I hope they document it when it's finished.

    The little fun fact: The building at 48:02 with the white boxes and circular windows is actually a real building in Japan called the Nagakin Capsule Tower. It was a collaborative architectural experiment to bring modular living to Japan and the movement was called Metabolism. I thought someone was going to explain it in the video but no one did.

    VERY cool, one thing i think would help nail that Cyberpunk look is using darker bricks for the buildings , or at least a good amount of them, enough so that the small amount of lighter buildings stick out and contrast better.
    Having darker buildings would help show all the lights up better. Some led's in the Atari logos etc would help also, including having random lights on in the apartment blocks so that some of them look occupied.
    Some good ideas here all in all though, just could be done with a little more focus in certain areas to completely nail the look (in my humble opinion - of course!). Would love to see how it looks in the dark!...... I'm imagining a couple of lazer lights shining into the sky from the roof of a skyscraper or something, with a very faint fog machine...... lol , so many ideas.
