2:46 Lego actually used that technique in a set. It’s in the 2019 and 2014 (I believe it was that year) At-Ap from Lego Star Wars.

For $2000 I suggest making a cave system for the castle assuming you keep it together because it does look nice. I myself am working on a LEGO project adding an underground section to my setup. It's gonna cost me as much as your castle did maybe more but it would be interesting to see if you did it
