The first time I saw Joan Jett was in 1980 when she and the Blackhearts opened for Iggy Pop. Her first solo album was on sale in the club, still on her own Blackheart label. Still have it in my collection. She'll always be one of the best rockers of the era.
One of my first big rock concerts I'd ever gone to was Joan Jett. I was about 8 or 9 years old.. was around 1988 I suppose. Was at the Mayo Civic Center in Rochester Minnesota. My dad really liked Joan Jett and had a bunch of her records with the Blackhearts as well as the Runaways. My dad just passed away from cancer about 5 weeks ago... he taught me alot.. instilled in me alot.. Definitely no shortage of great music in our home at any time! Thanks dad for all these memories!

I bought the 45 record (remember those!?) to Joan Jett's "I Love Rock N' Roll" and side B was this song. That was in the early '80s and it was the first time I heard the song, and 35+ years later...I've NEVER forgotten this song and still love it
You're hearing Joan's Gibson Melody Maker ( Red Rhodes Velvet Hammer Pickup) and my '70s Fender Telecaster! Joan played through my Fender Super Reverb, I used her Ampeg Amp (created a better blend)! I love coming across some of these track (Joan was great to work with, Kenny and Ritchie as well)! Actually, my favorite track that I cut with Joan is, "I Want You." The song was placed in The Runaways Film (scene where Kristen Stewart & Dakota Fanning use the airline restroom to dispose of their stash)! They should have used that track on the Bad Reputation Album! 🎸 🎶

I gave Sophie, ( Sophia is her given name) which I nicknamed her, and she calls her self Summer when she is being badass like her idol she loves dearly!, I gave her Joan Jettt stickers for her guitar, but for her rhythm guitar only, hint. She has a round bad reputation sticker and will have both black heart stickers too. I have them on my truck windows so I ordered more just for her! I think she has a gibson! I flew across country just so you and Cherie would get these and my letter that you'll now understand 47 years later!. She's drawing you your own charcoal so I can give it to you in person as I gave Cherie a copy of you and gave her a charcoal of her.
