What is the cutting height? The stubble look very small.
The cutting height is about 6cm.
That nice mower how many acer can do hour?
Depends on condition, but I was mowing between 35 and 45 acres per hour.
Have you seen any changes in your mouth quality or quantity from when you put the new 3/4 hoses on
It hasn't affected milk quantity, I think it might be too early to tell if it will have a noticeable effect on milk quality. In theory, it should be positive for milk quality long term because it's lower vacuum on the teat ends of the cows.
Which conditioner do you have on the mower? Tines (Disco 1100 C) or rollers (Disco 1100 RC)?
Rubber rollers, I don't have them set very tight. We went with the conditioners on the mower because we mow some sorghum sudangrass with it.
Why do you run the conditioners?
The crimper crushes/break the stalks of the alfalfa. This speeds up the drying time of the crop.

I don't have test results back yet, but I'm shooting for 20+ % protein.
How many acres of alfalfa do you have for first cut?
The two fields we made haylage on are about 330 acres total.
