Thank you brother. So many people have no idea what the Open Bible is and I wanted to explain the best way I could. I ALMOST, went through the old one and the new one to show the changes and differences but it would have been twice the length and I decided NOT to do it. But I wanted it to be in detail enough so that someone who had no clue would learn all that it offers. So thank you again for your comments.
Wow your Open is beautiful! That's one of the coolest older opens I've seen. I have the Heritage large print that's literally brand new that was gifted to me its one of my most cherished bibles. Personally I like the look of the older version BUT the print and paper is awesome on the new ones. We gotta move on don't we BUT I still love my old Open Bible LOL the new ones are great I only have a couple con's that will do an update about. I agree its my most favorite bible for good deep study , I love the topical index its what has fed me most in my walk with our Lord.
It's the first Bible that I spent money on it was a hard cover New American Standard and it was red. I gave it away eventually. But that was the one that I learned like you said all the basic important Christian teachings about God and Christ and the church.
The Open Bible hands down is the best Study Bible out there that has no slant on doctrine. Many study aids plus the same References that are in the other Bible you mentioned.
I purchased one for my wife in 1993 and she still uses it. When I found out Thomas Nelson was going to re-release it I was excited until I watched the reviews and saw the very poor quality (glued binding) and terrible leather. Needles to say I was very disappointed. This new re-release in comfort print, in my humble opinion, is a massive Home Run! I purchased it right when I found out it was Smythe sewn, nice leather, and the new comfort print on very nice paper. Great job, Thomas Nelson.
Kevin Schwartzkopf if you are talking about the new ones now - you were given wrong information. The bindings are SEWN and the leather is nice and the paper is awesome at 36gsm. So I’m not sure who told you that but they are very wrong.
I have two copies of the new King James Bible. So I won't be purchasing the Open Bible in the new King James right now. Hopefully it'll come out again in a csb heard that would be a miracle don't you think
David Martyn Dean - They have allowed different publishers use the HCSB and the CSB - Tyndall for HCSB Life Application, Oxford for HCSB Scofield, Baker for the Illustrated CSB, CSB Keyword.

I think the KJV is coming out next in Aug. CSB is another publisher so I doubt we will see it.
Yea I am not so sure they would do that. I think if ANYTHING... It will be NKJV, KJV and NIV since they own the copyright to that.

The text block is good however the font is a little small for my eyes.
Steve H - I thought so too but the print is so dark it is readable.
