The SIS trio Grace, Trichelle and Kara have a Destiny's Child vibe! ❤️

I worked on So In Style in the background from 2008-2012.
I helped develop Grace’s back story, and I designed the So In Style icon to look like Stacey!
When Stacey left, I took over the line from Fall 2012 to Spring 2014 (product on shelf dates). My last assortment (Prom) came out almost two years after I’d left Mattel and they dumbed down the Prom fashions so much I only recognized the dolls because they used my faces, hairstyles and accessories!
Animal Print-cess was an $7.99 OPP (opening price point) so I had an incredibly small budget to create the doll from in comparison to a $21.99 two doll mentoring set.
I also did all the character illustrations that you featured in the video!
    Love your honesty!

The so in style line NEEDS to have a revival. I agree with Edmond. Please Mattel bring it back.

Edmond, if they brought back the 'So In Style' dolls in a 5 box set, it'll still be less expensive than those $400 dolls that you have. It will be worth it 👌.

I remember SIS; mainly because it was a core black doll line. I was obsessed.

I agree with you, the open mouth doesn’t work very well on this screen. But she’s a very cute doll, they need to bring the line back ❤ and I still love glitter on their clothes haha 😂

Mbili is my fave Mattel sculpt, and SiS was a great line! I have about 6 various dolls from this line. Wish they would bring it back somehow.

I liked the SIS dolls, especially the early ones and clothing collabs. I only have Baby Phat Chandra because at the time I think it was the darkest skin tone to have the extra posable body. The painted teeth towards the end of the run seemed like a last ditch attempt to boost sales by trying to make the dolls look friendlier, like when they added the smiles in Ever After High and changed the faceups in Monster High G2. With Barbie Brooklyn being a thing now, I don't think Grace and friends could make a comeback.

I've got 2(Chandra and Kara). I also have Shani,Nichelle, and Asha. Would be nice if Mattel brought back So In Style series. With 21 points of articulation like the made to move bodies. They'd sell like the Barbie Looks line. So In Style always been a good trend 👌 👏 👍 😎 🙌 😉.

You have the Shani Dolls. I had those dolls those were my favorites from the 90s

Her hair isn’t cheap it’s a different hair fiber called kanekalon which Barbie largely used in the 90’s it’s great for bone straight hairstyles of current day or voluminous curls like Barbie had in the 90’s

Stacey Mc Bride needs to team up with Lilly Martinez. ;____; . I dislike this one though. This was at the end of the line when it was just bleh nylon. It didn't have the verve it once had.

It wasn’t nylon hair you’re probably mistaking polypropylene for nylon and that hair is neither it was Kanekalon which is still a premium hair fiber that was used on most 90’s Barbie’s grace dolls through the run of the brand usually had kanekalon hair and bangs or a “fringe” as that was her signature look

@@FatChuckBass I meant that the fabric was cheap. Not the hair.
