  • We start off driving from Koa Pancake House located at 930 Valkenburgh St #101, Honolulu, HI 96818 to Kualoa Ranch. This is one of my favorite drives on Oahu. The route we took was first getting on the H1 -- H3 --83. A google maps link is provided below.

Most people don’t know that Hawaii was once controlled by a queen until the United States Marines invaded and took it over. It was given to a bunch of wealthy landowners who owned sugar cane crops. They are the ones who convinced the US government to conquer Hawaii and give it to them. Hawaii then became a US territory for a time. Until the wealthy business men took control and stopped it from becoming a US territory. A few years later the United States government forced Hawaii to become a state. The United States government never apologize for invading Hawaii or taking over the island. To this day most native Hawaiians live in abject poverty. They live in little shanty shacks with tin roofs. Massively expensive hotels and restaurants you see on the island are owned by corporations or conglomerates. Native Hawaiians have to try making a living by working minimum wage jobs. The government did give some money to help the natives acquire houses. However there was mass corruption and less than 5% of people receive homes. I don’t know why facts like things aren’t taught in schools. It shows how truly corrupt the US government is
