While the other boy bands before 2008 presented themselves as hard core (Both Super Junior and BigBang), Shinee took a different approach in Ring Ding Dong, wearing furs and makeup. They broke traditional male style by wearing colorful clothing, make-up and Taemin often has worn long hair, even before BigBang experimented with it. Shinee is responsible for the ever popular "Shinee Style" in Korea, hence why so many Kpop boy bands are also experimenting with feminine looks. But Shinee was the first to do it. They also have really interesting tempos in their music and they popularized synchronization in the dance. (Watch their MV Sherlock). Shinee is highly talented as well. Jonhgyun is a really strong singer, Onew is a really soft singer, Minho is a great rapper, Key is the singer with the most unique voice, and Taemin is an excellent dancer. To add, Shinee also convey a lot of stage charisma when they perform. They express their personalities more openly than most Kpop boy bands do. (Hello Baby was when I fell in love with this group). Again, Big Bang is cool in their own way. I just happen to think Shinee is more unique than almost all the boy groups in Kpop history, as I examine their performances, their image, and listen to their music, as well as examine their personalities.

@@cloddiehoppers Well, in general SHINee do not have an actual Universe as in, for example Exo or Aespa. The general view of their comebacks goes more like in separated concepts. Each of their albums has an special vibe, story and musicalization. But, for example they had some years where they had multiple comebacks (e.g 2013: Misconception of Me, Misconception of U, Everybody) and there is still a connection between them, specially in Repackage albums. I would recommend to hear the separated tittle tracks, all of them are awesome and have something of their own ❤️. iTsSo FlUfFy Its not that Big Bang doesn't have their own thing...but Shinee is the only group I know that dressed more feminine and sang more feminine songs than the other boy groups before them at the time of their debut 2008. While the other boy bands before 2008 presented themselves as hard core (Both Super Junior and BigBang), Shinee took a different approach in Ring Ding Dong, wearing furs and makeup. They broke traditional male style by wearing colorful clothing, make-up and Taemin often has worn long hair, even before BigBang experimented with it. Shinee is responsible for the ever popular "Shinee Style" in Korea, hence why so many Kpop boy bands are also experimenting with feminine looks. But Shinee was the first to do it. They also have really interesting tempos in their music and they popularized synchronization in the dance. (Watch their MV Sherlock). Shinee is highly talented as well. Jonhgyun is a really strong singer, Onew is a really soft singer, Minho is a great rapper, Key is the singer with the most unique voice, and Taemin is an excellent dancer. To add, Shinee also convey a lot of stage charisma when they perform. They express their personalities more openly than most Kpop boy bands do. (Hello Baby was when I fell in love with this group).
Again, Big Bang is cool in their own way. I just happen to think Shinee is more unique than almost all the boy groups in Kpop history, as I examine their performances, their image, and listen to their music, as well as examine their personalities.

Its present even back then its just that it's more pronounced now because of intense fandom rivalry aided by social media. There's more criticisms now for reasons unknown to me. Maybe its because there's a lot of groups now compared back then. When there's different brands of goods present, we tend to compare them sooo maybe that's why.

Oh, so that's why I kept seeing 'Note' and 'Clue' when I was watching 'Sherlock' performance. This MV is my third time listening to this song after seeing the cover. So 'Note' and 'Clue' are their own songs, too? I think I'll have to check those songs out, too. Does Shinee have a storyline/universe? Lol, I'm clueless.

@@cloddiehoppers Well, in general SHINee do not have an actual Universe as in, for example Exo or Aespa. The general view of their comebacks goes more like in separated concepts.
Each of their albums has an special vibe, story and musicalization. But, for example they had some years where they had multiple comebacks (e.g 2013: Misconception of Me, Misconception of U, Everybody) and there is still a connection between them, specially in Repackage albums.
I would recommend to hear the separated tittle tracks, all of them are awesome and have something of their own ❤️. Pick the one that you like better and then, start to look up for the album it came from.
