If you are wondering its not 10,000 Islands around Florida its a place in the south west of Florida near Naples called "The 10,000 Islands" that stretches to the Everglades

God I can still smell the air when I see the area . Oppressive humidity in the summer , but soooo wonderful in the winter . Thanks . Should be longer.

A visual treat, especially so because this area is fairly inaccessible. You can't hike here, you need some type of boat, and there are all those flesh-eating reptiles. Alligators are more numerous in Florida than crocodiles, and are typically found in freshwater habitats. Crocodiles, on the other hand, are rare and secretive creatures that inhabit the coastal salt-water habitats.

So majestic and beautiful. It just enrages me that 3 people would "Thumbs down" this.

Where are The Ten Thousand Islands? Well, this chain of islands and mangrove islets are off the coast of southwest Florida, between Cape Romano (at the south end of Marco Island) and the mouth of the Lostmans River.

You can hire a boat at Caxambas park to take you to the domed homes and 10,000 islands. It would probably be best to look online and shop around prices. Definitely a trip you won’t forget any time soon.

AKA the swamp. The real "islands" in Florida are located within the barrier island's intracostal waterway, they are small sand islands with some vegetation accessible by boat. Great for camping and drinking 🍻 The 10k's don't have much sand, they have crazy amount of mosquitos and just head into the everglades aka the swamp from SWFL.

I can’t think of a place I’d rather not be for two big reasons: the mosquitoes & it’s in Florida😱

Florida’s great! I don’t know why so many people say it’s terrible. I lived and worked there, traveled all over the state and loved it.
