You’re so welcome ! In fact I just made a batch the other day . One of those foods that’s just as good warmed up the next day . Thanks for the nice comment and watching my channel .
@@dianegrossack8354 Looking forward to using up some homemade Spicy Dill Pickles. And, I heard these little bundles of goodness freeze well. Is this true?
They make a beautiful dinner .. served with noodles /potatoes .. they go with a wide variety of sides! Hope you try it out! Leave a comment if you do 😋
I absolutely LOVE this dish! In fact, I have the meat to prepare it too. I really like the addition of the mushrooms and wine as well. I am also a fan of your technique in waiting to add flour to the sauce versus covering the beef rolls in flour before browning. I am definitely doing your fantastic Cindy’s Certified version! Can’t wait!! 😋
THANKS! I find adding the flour later gets the sauce closer to the consistency I like better than flouring the actual rouladen . If you try it out let me know what you think!!
@@FiercedeityBrad Thanks! They are very delicious and easy and it’s simple to add a few slivers or chunks of pickle however you like! I recommend a really good bacon. Smokey like applewood with slight sweetness. The better the bacon the better the dish/gravy!! Thanks for your nice comment and I hope you get a chance to make this and let me know what you think 😉
My mother used to roll hers with a pickle in them. Years later when I made them for my wife and kids I rolled a thin carrot in them as I really don't care for pickles. I thought they were awesome but my kids weren't that impressed.
LOL! That’s great !! Well it’s tough to impress kids , but I applaud your ingenuity 🤗. Maybe each subsequent time, surprise them with a different veggie 🤣. I grew up SANS pickle ..
Hey Mr.S you should have done what my grandma did. Peel that nice thick carrot then after layering some thinly cut onions on the meat wrap a nice thick piece of bacon around that carrot and then finish cooking. Since top round used for this is extremely lean the bacon inside will slowly melt and Mario that lean piece of beef into a finished slab of deliciousness where a knife is definitively not necessary!
That’s what’s great about rouladen is you can easily add/subtract to your tastes/desires. I hope you try my grandmother’s recipe with your substitution. I know you’ll love it!!
@@danielherrera8951 I mention them in the recipe if you prefer to add them it’s an easy add. My grandmother didn’t put them in nor my mother . It’s a regional thing. Feel free to use my recipe as a base and add as many pickles as you like! 😉
@@cmaur811 nope! I guess during WW2 feeding 16 children if she didn’t have any she made or plain didn’t like them in there .. there certainly wasn’t a store available! They were lucky to have what they did

@@cindycertified We're in the same boat in a way. My Grandmother made the beef Rouladen for holiday dinner with the pickles chopped up. Thats because we kids would not eat pickle or onion etc.. unless it was chopped up. My sister took in a German Exchange Student last year. She is so German that if you braided her hair put her in a white shirt and Lederhosen she'd be a St Pauli Girl Model lol. Anyway she was offended. "Why you chop up the onion? Its sliced" LOL

wonderful. I'd add 3-5 capers per roll up. I'm not a pickle guy but capers add a nice flavor.
OOOOOH! That’s very intriguing!!!🧐!!! I think I might have to give that a try and check it out! Thanks for idea and the nice comment !!!🙂🤗
