2024: "Twenty Twenty-Four" is easier/quicker to say than "Two-Thousand (and) Twenty-Four" Don't keep using the "2000" prefix after 2009 ended...it slows things down!
Great to see a new episode and just shy of 30 minutes too! As with video games though stores like these only contribute to the false high market value of these toys by creating a false scarcity of the items.
No, it really does suck sometimes to be into this stuff on a personal level- and have a budget- and you're somewhere with lots of stuff you like; but they just want way more for it than it's worth to you. We've all been there! I watch because that kind of shit is relatable- some of these guys on TH-cam seem to have infinite disposable income. More power to them, and I'm jealous af, but it's not realistic and that's not as fun to watch to me...
Pardon me, sir. Yes. Burger King did have Alf puppets, but it came with a little record you could play.........,..granted if you didn't iron that thing down it'd sound like crap, but still.
Love a good channel crossover! Yeah, Jay was never getting the Turtles cereal box off Ed, lol. _Munchies_ is the one "little monsters" movie from the mid-80s I never got around to seeing. Have to (finally) check it out. Not gonna lie, I've forked out more than fiddy bucks for a one sheet - way more than I prolly should've haha Going to Macca's was a big deal in the 80s. They weren't in every town back then like they are now (at least in my part of the world.) Nearest one to us was a good half-hour drive away. Fun part was surviving the playground. Those sit & spins were wild lol
If Billy's first words to me on that Leia figure or anything else ("Considering you have 8,000 of these...) was that, I would've immediately doubled the price I first thought of upon seeing it, before he finished speaking
Wow, your ego is that fragile? Yeah I'd be totally devastated I wouldn't be able to buy a bare bones Leia figure. Might send me into a spiraling depression.
@@TheGameChasers "...after telling you to eat sh*t, of course." - is what you edited out, there. Looks like you were the one on tilt and fragile, Sir. My view helps a seller's deal-making, coming up with a fair, or at least non-arbitrary reason to start out higher. & you know you've dealt with sellers using less reason, whom you DIDN'T want to tell them to "eat sh*t." ta ta, Mr. Chaser. Nice movie, btw.
I understand that these episodes are rather old footage if I recall, but did Jay ever get his windshield replaced? Do they not have to get car inspections in TX? Is that somehow an OK thing to have with an inspection? I know locally we get instant rejected if there is a larger crack in the windshield!
I need to visit that warehouse to complete some of my stuff. Rich needs a warehouse! I have the GoBots command center, and nobody under 38 ever knows what it is when they see it. He pulled out that ebay price for Princess Leia real quick. Holy crap I've gotten fat, but in my case I think the camera subtracted 10 pounds. Sorry I wasn't my usual talkative self. I had a Star Trek model phase growing up. My bedroom had assembled Enterprises sitting on my long heirloom dresser. I kinda stopped when I spent my 12 year old life savings on the Star Trek VI one and its droopy nacelles, which I learned much later was a common experience with that specific one. Still a great time and I'm kinda thinking of getting a couple new ones now. Anyways I love how this one wraps up with Billy taking those gremlins home. 10/10.
Hummm... Game Chasers Start getting more toys while looking for games Toy Chasers Start getting more cereal boxes when looking for toys Cereal Box Chasers?
To be fair, dropping trou in an estate sale may clear the crowd out and lead to easier perusal of everything on sale. At least until law enforcement shows up. Edit: That little “Secret of The Ooze” flip book that Jay pulled out of the cereal box just hit me in the gut with nostalgia! I totally had that but completely forgot it ever even existed 🥲
Man, he was high on those cereal boxes to start but glad he came back and gave you a deal. I collect cereal boxes and particularly for the Bill and Ted and the Robinhood those two just aren't super valuable. The Bill and Ted since it's sealed is $40 absolute max, but you can get it cheaper. The Robinhood is like 20 bucks and the Batman is like $25 or less.
That maximum overdrive poster brings back memories, great soundtrack and my first ever tape . At 8 years old I would drive around with my mom and crank it up every chance I got.
McDonald's in the 80's - the Golden Era for the Golden Arches - real playground, real happy meals and loved the Plastic UFO Happy Meals and toys. Thankful to have lived in that magical time! Cheers!
I just randomly searched my favorite Spider-Man cereal from 1995 a week ago and went and got it on eBay for a steal. Crazy how y'all found cereal boxes on this episode!
No the 1980's DID make especially brittle plastics. They often had the bromine mixture wrong and the plastics would get extra brittle compared to stuff before and after. It's also why you see so many pieces of electronics that were originally white from the 1980's/early 1990's turning yellow and falling apart
Well there are different levels to plastics and different materials for plastics aka biobased vs petroleum or fossil fuels. I guarantee my gun stock will last longer than 80's toys.
Man the cereal back in the 80s used to have the toy taped on to the box! Thats crazy now! To think about that the Batman 1989 cereal had a bank also THATS AWESOME! Its not like now.

Man, this makes me want to go hunting. Getting all the 80s - 90s X-Men collection would be sweet. Those were so iconic during my childhood.
So this is why vintage toys are so expensive! They get hoarded into warehouses to increase their value due to their "scarcity."
