Might have missed some somewhere, but there's a bunch of others that could have been used to bring this up to a full 50. Raccoons, Cities of Gold, Dogtanian, Transformers... nevermind some more localised classics like Dangermouse, Count Duckula... Rather short on 70s examples too ;) The ones we DO have are still perfectly good, mind :D

...yes, as in two of the entries I already mentioned, you mean? The list is officially 43 entries long, and in actuality closer to 50 because of several double entries. The 80s making up all of five places in that is a rather poor showing given how both the 80s and 90s were a very rich and diverse time for iconic cartoon shows with distinct and recognisable themes. Heck, I mean, just compare The Raccoons (whose full length theme song was released as a 45rpm single and had a live action music video) to Avatar ... pretty much the entirety of the latter's opening music is used here in the first ten seconds. Very few shows have anything resembling the old style extended themes any more, it's all cold opens and four-bar stings.

Huh, wasn't expecting Evangelion here. DBZ was kinda given, even if it technically isn't classified as a cartoon, but Eva? Songs about comedic shows and suddenly show containing a psychoanalysis of a character suffering from social anxiety, hedgehog's dilemma and implied psychosis? Jeesh, talk about a tonal dissonance.
Thomas Haass The term people seem to use for it is American Anime. I'm talking about the animation style and techniques here, what are the usual things that are common in most anime if not all, while American and European animations have plenty of different styles that aren't as connected as most anime are. Animes tend to have plenty of use of similiar kind of camera shots, use of frames, painted and nowadays also CGI backgrounds with drawn layers that are given frames, visuals are overall highly detailed and thus any kind of movement is rarely fluid and won't happen all that much, when in comparison to cartoons. Of course, there are some more experimental ones and genre breakers, but exceptions to rules exist always. This short explanation of why I define cartoon and anime as two separate things, even if both fall under the category of animation, and cartoon is pretty much a synonym to animation.

I got to play in Carnegie Hall in 06 with my high school band. Seems so long ago but I loved it. Glad I found this TH-cam channel.

This was really good! Another theme would be Sailor Moon.
They had Sailor Moon in there: Look around the 35 second mark (some of the members were wearing the tiaras!). It's mixed in with the theme from X-Men: Evolution!
The guy in the centre gave off a smile when they hit the Rocko's Modern Life bit.

Huh, wasn't expecting Evangelion here. DBZ was kinda given, even if it technically isn't classified as a cartoon, but Eva? Songs about comedic shows and suddenly show containing a psychoanalysis of a character suffering from social anxiety, hedgehog's dilemma and implied psychosis? Jeesh, talk about a tonal dissonance.

Anime still has a pretty distinctive style to it, so the line isn't exactly all that blurry.

The term people seem to use for it is American Anime.
I'm talking about the animation style and techniques here, what are the usual things that are common in most anime if not all, while American and European animations have plenty of different styles that aren't as connected as most anime are. Animes tend to have plenty of use of similiar kind of camera shots, use of frames, painted and nowadays also CGI backgrounds with drawn layers that are given frames, visuals are overall highly detailed and thus any kind of movement is rarely fluid and won't happen all that much, when in comparison to cartoons. Of course, there are some more experimental ones and genre breakers, but exceptions to rules exist always.
This short explanation of why I define cartoon and anime as two separate things, even if both fall under the category of animation, and cartoon is pretty much a synonym to animation.
