    I would love to see Oceanside one more time. I had a studio apartment at 306 So. Pacific in 1975. $85. a month. That was a lot of money back then for a small apartment. I walked the pier almost everyday. Ruby's was a lot different back in those days.

    Nice to see O'side getting a facelift. From the time when I was there last. I lived there and in Vista from 1986 - 1998, during which time some nice changes were being made, but after leaving... I discovered some unfortunate ones occurred, like the Drive-In down in the valley closed up. That's where on the weekends the swap meet was open and was exhilarating to hear Mariachi music emitting from the stereos of some Mexican/Hispanic vendors or live performers.
    Going to the Star Theatre on Main Street & Civic Center Drive and the Library was great. The theatre offered some movies that the larger one in Carlsbad didn't, but the latter was great because a person could wander throughout the mall and then attend the theatre.
    Walking the pier was fun because of the sights and sounds of life. It also afforded me the opportunity to enjoy my favorite pastime: people watching.

    Moved from Anaheim to Oceanside in 1991….we bought in Creek Side Estates, before the Arrowood community was built. During this time, the market was way down compared to the OC area, so we bought a new two story home for $214,000. Our OC friends thought we were crazy moving here because of the military and gang reputation. Well our friends now really like it and they always comment on the more laid back vibe.

    I was born on Camp Pendleton, back in 1956 and grew up in Oceanside until 1976 when I joined the Air Force and left. Been back to Oceanside a few times and it was definitely better when I was growing up there. My mom bought a house on Oceanside Boulevard on Barnwell for $17,500
    My friends and I used to ride our bicycles all over downtown Oceanside during the Vietnam war when there were Marines everywhere, spent a lot of time at Pacific holiday land next to the pier which is now long gone and at the harbor. Those days are long gone never to return.

    Oceanside soon will be a hot thriving coastal city, exciting changes coming, San Diego Sockers new stadium, wave park lagoon, casual seafood at the end of the pier, also city recently approved for Oceanside's pier bridge to be replaced cost of 40 million. I think now is the best time to get in.

    Coastal Oceanside is the meth and homeless capital of coastal North County. There are 4 to 5 meth dealers/houses per square mile in multimillion dollar neighborhoods. There is zero Narcotics enforcement. There's a reason why it's cheaper than other coastal cities.

    Oceanside coastal is the meth capital of north county coastal from City hall to Wisconsin Street there are meth dealers on every other street I live in this area OPD narcotics, and the city council have made this area a safe zone for meth dealers literally open-air meth markets next to air BNB's in this area they have been reported and council member Joyce and the OPD Narcotics cover for the meth dealers and will not do anything. think twice before you think about moving to coastal Oceanside you will regret it.

    Coastal Oceanside is the meth and homeless capital of north coastal San Diego. There are 4 to 5 meth dealers/houses per square mile on the Oceanside coast in multimillion dollar neighborhoods. There is zero enforcement by Oceanside Police Department narcotics division they have abandoned the residents. I live here just east of Coast Highway the meth dealers have taken over the area their are open air meth markets just east of Coast Highway.

    As a "youngin" (1970´s) we didn´t like to go to Oceanside because of the rocky beaches. I don´t think "developers" getting a hand on the city is necessarily beneficial. The homeless crisis in SoCal is definitely a result of "developers" destroying the local community.

    • @realtorjamielennon
      @realtorjamielennon  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, great mention with the rocky beaches. Outside of the main beach, there really isn’t much “beach” until you get down to Carlsbad.
