    I have visited this amazing city two times, 3 weeks each time, when my son was living there. I was enchanted with the sights, food, and people. I could live there for the rest of my life if possible. Loved it so much.

    I lived in Krakow for 5 years as a kid, went to the 1 and 2 school at Pod gorze. It's so regretful that I haven't explore this city as much as I can because now, I'm moved back in Vietnam and never had a chance to go back there... Thank you for this video, it's bring a lot of my childhood memories back. One day I will be back to explore it again!

    Speaking of Wawel Cathedral: on 17 January 1734, August III was crowned King of Poland by the Bishop of Krakow, Jan Aleksander Lipski. During the ceremony, the first two movements of Johann Sebastian Bach's B Minor Mass were performed. The musicians performing this work were conducted by the Polish composer Grzegorz Gerwazy Gorczycki. Johann Sebastian Bach became court composer to the King of Poland in 1736.

    How did you make a picture of empty Florianska street? 😮

    • @LifestyleHal
      @LifestyleHal  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It could be possible that I slept in an cafe on that very street and told the cleaners in the morning to get out of the way for the shot

    The problem with this video is that there are too many exteriors. How can you visit the Wawel castle and not show the Italianate courtyard, or the cathedral and not show the Zygmunt bell and the view from the tower? Or the Sukiennice cloth-hall only from the outside? And just one fleeting glimpse of the stained glass inside the Mariacka basilica, missing out the opening of the altar tryptich. Perhaps the producer couldn’t get permissions? There are plenty of videos s/he might have negotiated excerpts from? Check out ‘Otwarcie ołtarza wita stwosza’, second hit down…

      Perhaps that's a project you could undertake

    • @devijankowicz9491
      @devijankowicz9491 ปีที่แล้ว

      Heavens, no; I've no expertise in film-making. But having lived there in the 90s I've an eye for its beauties, and many of them are in the interiors, not just outdoors.

    A lot is talked about Podgórze and the atrocities that happened during WW2. However it should be noted there was a well established Jewish population in that area that the Jews themselves chose to live in since the 1700s when the rest of Europe were getting rid of their Jewish inhabitants

    • @jankowalski3220
      @jankowalski3220 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well, Jews lived throughout Krakow, while most of Podgórzew became a ghetto created by the Germans. The voluntary nature of living there was problematic at that time, although the official name was "Der jüdische Wohnbezirk in Krakau". Leaving this "residential district" most often led to slave work, also in the concentration camp located in Płaszów.
