It sucks, because you're given just enough time to dread the pain you're about to feel.
It’s not a delay. The pain is so extreme that you can’t even register it.
Yeah the one time I nearly broke my leg I knew it was going to be bad even as my body entered the water. (Leg got caught between two railings and while it slipped free that didn't stop it from nearly breaking). I literally felt the cold of the water which probably distracted my sense of feeling long enough for me to think about how it was going to hurt like a bitch and while I was right, I couldn't stand for over an hour and couldn't swim for 2 days afterward cause moving hurt a lot.
My cousin who was in the same accident also had his foot torn by a bolt he was standing on when my brother pushed off the raft with his then 300 lb form. Everyone else on the raft was lucky to be sitting down, but me, well I was literally just climbing out of the water and had stood up. The laws of physics were working quite fine that day.
And at the two second mark: "Oh God...my life is so over...."
That's the worst part. You feel the impact and for the first couple of moments, _nothing._
...then you start to feel the creeping grip of Death's cold hand on your very soul.
Lets be honest, we've all known how he feels.
-The ohoh stage.... the denial stage... the try to walk it off stage... then the down you go stage.... And the final one, the roll back and forth on the ground to take the weight off selected wrong positions. Which is all of them.
The worst is when you lightly graze them and then you’re like “oh no, thats gonna hurt in a second” and then you feel it in you stomach
"Ok....I got this. It's no problem......Oh God....please take me now....."

My grandfather recently passed away peacefully after a long battle with dementia. Watching this bear get hit in the nuts (or as he would say "right in the goolies!") brought him so much laughter and joy in his final days, and it gave me the gift of hearing his laugh that i remember so well. You need to swap bargaining and angers places. Bargaining is earlier than anger.
