Just casually letting opp summon Gale and Grepher in g3

So at about 18:10, if you want to be aggressive with the soul release the play is probably banish with D alch, go to BP, crash angel through nova summoner into orange light, swing over grepher with D alch, MP2 make brio, drop kristya, add back orange and then soul release all 4 of their monsters and your own shining angel. You now have brio kristya with either purple or orange as insulation and heavy to push efficiently through backrow. Even with brain con you can stop any plays with orange which puts you back up to 4 fairies for kristya if they out it, at which point you add back D alch which can float into honest to close or angel to continue the grind game if you somehow haven’t already won. There’s also argument to just burning the soul exchange after swinging over grepher since they have 5 in hand but I feel like in this position you have every counter while they have zero setup so it’s justified going aggressive. The play you made is also pretty good with the D alch still up and angel in hand as follow up but I feel you got somewhat lucky drawing orange light + honest off of valley, the brio line was probably more consistently decisive

Basically I messed up so hard because I had 2 mali, plague and assault mode activate, which would allow for turn 1 stardust am, but instead of special summoning grepher with mali I just did the normal like an idiot. In my mind and heart, that grepher was special summoned lolol

In my defence, that deck was built 2 hours earlier and I didn't know someone already did some experiments with the vayu engine. I think it's fun to play tho

Man just a suggestion in the beginning while ur showing the deck can't you choose the Edison Format option, it's very annoying to have the current banlist showing

dark end dragon is so odd in modern edison format. you can see karpath calling dark end before it hits the field and it's in everyone's deck that can make it but in reality, it was nowhere to be found in actual edison because it was considered such an expensive luxury. gotta love losing a game in edison to a card that you could realistically never see in actual edison xD

You also would never have seen a fairy/Kristya deck. Or Vayu turbo (considering Vayu and Armor Master were CRAZY expensive back then). Or gemini. Or Dark Calling. Or Dragon Turbo (in the variant we see). Or Amaryllis burn.
It is a retro format, but almost nothing played now was played then. Dark End Dragon is no different than seeing someone summon Kristya in my eyes.

@@haruhirogrimgar6047 I get your point, I think where I differentiate them is that cards like kristya would have b caught you off guard by being more of a tech, whereas dark end wasn’t a tech, it was simply just so rare and expensive you’d likely never see it. You’d probably still see some variations of these decks (though counter fairy was the more popular fairy build) at locals back in the day. As for Vayu turbo, even though it didn’t top, it was still very much a deck. It was just underestimated and underrepresented because it got hit super hard in March, but it was a deck right from the get-go when Vayu released in sep 09. I remember Vayu turbo being my favourite deck of the september 09 format
