Man this brings back memories back when I first saw this come out when I was six. Till this day I still want it.
When this came out I was six aswell and I do wanted it so much. Tüll this day I still want it. Now I just finished the bugatti and I did the lamborghini 1 year ago. I will get this one one day aswell I hope and I know.

It took me and my friend 6-9 hours to build the lego technic 42122 Jeep Wrangler because it doesn't have much pieces but it's complex and me and my friend forgot one piece and it ruined the whole thing but it took us 3 hours to re assemble and assemble it qgain

This was my only birthday present a couple years ago and my whole family pitched in to get it. It is by far my most prized LEGO set except for the cargo plane. I was so excited to have it I built it in a night

I have a lot of Lego and this will always be my favourite set,
If you think you're not able to build this, or questioning if you can, try to do the 24hrs race car first. Its a pretty tough build. But it has a lot of the same features for half the cost. Then if that one was easy go and take on the Porsche. Its a very long build for both, the 24hrs race car took me 4 1/2 hours to build and the Porsche was around 8. For inexperienced technic builders it's definitely not a set you want to do first. Also if you can't afford the Porsche the 24hrs race car has a lot of the same functionality (full suspension, working motor, opening doors/hood. And huge size).
Both are great options. Also the lower priced drag racer is a great set at $80 with a lot of functionality. And at an even better bargain is the race truck which you can get online at Toys R Us in the USA for $40. At the time of this post (11/15/16). I picked up all of them and they are all awesome and great builds.

LEGO should make the BMW M3 GTR
They are making a lot of cars now. Have you seen their speed champions series? Some old stuff and new. They have a ferrari gto, and a senna. The newest one is the older mustang, which you can build in two designs. Their really getting into cars. Very happy about it too! I hope to see a gt bmw one day as well!

So does the PDK Transmission work? I've heard that it does not function properly due to the amount of friction in the gearbox. Others say that it works if you switch two steps in the building process for it to work properly. Surely this couldn't have slipped through LEGO's entire reviewing team. Otherwise that would be disappointing if such a key feature does not work on a $300.00 model that has been introduced to us with so much hype and marketing.

I have the Bugatti Chiron and the Lamborghini Sian, all I need is this to complete the ultimate supercar collection. I might be getting it for Christmas this year, me and my mum have been looking at it and I really want it, by the way i'm 11 nearly twelve and I go to high school this year i'm quit a master builder myself. I built the lego creator expert Sydney Opera House when I was 7 with no help at all.

It would be awesome if someone made this 1:1 scale, but then maybe a metal set would be necessary.
It's a model of an actual vehicle so there are already thousands of 1:1 scale cars.

LEGO holds licenses with McLaren, Ford, GM (Chevrolet), Ferrari, Mini (owned by BMW), Volvo, Mercedes Benz, and seems to be doing the most with VAG (Volkswagen Automotive Group - Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Porsche, SEAT, Škoda, VW, Ducati, MAN, Scania, Neoplan).
So...Ferrari and Lamborghini are already there.

For those of you thinking about getting this set, only get it if money is not an issue. Even then, I feel like it's a huge ripoff. The book is actually only that thick because the instructions are HEAVILY over-simplified, not because there's a ton of unique content regarding the car. The set also doesn't seem to know what it wants to be. Does it strive to be a display model or does it want to packed full of technic features? Considering the price tag it should be both, and yes it looks amazing, but the functions leave very little to be desired. The suspension is laughably basic and the transmission that is focused so heavily on hardly works. Sure it can shift but all it changes is the speed at which the engine/cranks rotate (WHICH YOU CAN'T SEE). On top of that there's so many gears that the transmission never spins smoothly and makes an awful rattling noise when you wheel the car around.
You probably got that from sariels vid. Look at jang bricks review his works perfect
I have already built the set and I've experienced the exact same things he has. But I will see if Jang has perhaps built it "better" than us.
+turtlehater2 In Jang's review, his fix for the instructions makes you change 4 gears, while Sariel's only has you change 2. So Jang's solution must work better cuz his works absolutely perfect.
suspension is laughably basic? Are you kidding? It has actual dual-wishbone suspension with the coilover springs and dampers. What build kit has better suspension?

Not the real car... the technic version
It took me 18 hours to build the car but when I finished I wished I did it much slower, It is the process that I enjoy. I sat in front of the table for 18 hour and barely moved, no eating nor drinking, totally forgot anything else. Now 210 € is gone and I’m saving for Hogwarts castle.

My God! The way you assemble intricate parts to build the most complex of toys is simply mind boggling.
It took me 13 hours to build this one but I was only 14 looking for challenging sets and this set was one great job a like from me
