    I love getting them small and dull. Can watch them grow, watch them color up, and hopefully keep them longer. Great video.

    So I have a 93 gallon tank (350 litres) and every chiclid is growing fine except one. In the last 6 months every other peacock have doubled in size but I have 1 which has refused to grow at all. That little peacock has been the exact same size for 6 months.

    Good video...fish will grow regardless but they will definitely grow bigger faster in a larger tank...I have a 7 inch Frontosa in my 150g tank but he didn't really start growing in size until I moved my Africans from the 75 gallon..once they all got moved it was literally a matter of 3-4 months that I saw the Frontosa grow inches.

    I wonder how much stress plays into growth. I’ve been keeping fish for a little over a year and have been buffering ph with no kh in the water. I’m really looking forward to see how my fish grow with a more stable kh/ph environment Good video dude

    I have a 45 gallon that is 3ft long and 2ft high. I have 9 black skirt tetras, 1 juvenile firemouth cichlid, 1 green severum juvenile. I was just using this tank until I had room for a bigger tank. By doing so am I hurting their growth at this point, being that they are so young?

    Jay, I believe you, but I overstock and with with wild South American Cichlids. Geophagus, severums, Uaru's, discus, Satanoperca, loaches, corydoras and fancy pleco's. I overstock a lot, I heavily over filter I feed 4 times a day, I do 40% water changes twice a week and nothing more and my fish grow and color up nicely. It happens quicker than it did when I followed all the rules. In one tank, I keep south american, central American and African Cichlids with no problem, save one, I can't do the big water changes because of the calvis. However, I can do it, but others are like, you are so wrong and you shouldn't mix and crowd. Oh well.

    I have a 55 gal tank. PH and mineral levels match the bottle's suggestions. Mixed tank with tons of variety and definitely not over crowded. (Is it silly to say I can tell the fish are happy?) I have 1 black chiclid that is growing normal and drop dead gorgeous 😍 And 1 albino that hides, eats, and is slightly territorial but tiny! Hasn't grown at all. Why??? Literally still 1 inch and the black one is at least 2. Could it be age? I've had them 1 month now.

    Hello Jay,
    I was wondering if you could help my situation. I recently moved my peacock from a 30 gallon to a 10 gallon due to a nitrite spike. The first few days he was active and swimming around. Starting this week he has been lethargic and sitting at the bottom of the tank. He doesn't swim up for food anymore. His breathing is back to normal and that's about it. Any tips on what I should do?

    • @Jaywil07
      @Jaywil07  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Reduce stress and test the water. Don’t over react just react based upon your findings

    • @00dreamer00
      @00dreamer00 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jay Wilson ammonia and nitrite are at 0 for my 10 gallon. Nitrate is around 10-20. Would you recommend using api stress coat?

    Jay, you make a lot assertions that seem to make sense BUT you need to back them up with references (real data not antidoctal info) that support your assertions.

    • @Jaywil07
      @Jaywil07  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      mark zick this is all based on what has worked for me and what I share with the people that may need help that haven’t tried these things. I’m not a certified and approved sanctioned fish expert. I am a hobbyist that is willing to share in formation that is founded through the trial and tribulations. If it works awesome if it doesn’t it won’t harm your fish ...... now if I was talking opening up fish or throwing a tube down there throat yes the science needs to be there for me to recite but this is information that i am giving can be founded on the internet to back what I am sayin up or it can be cited on various videos I have done in the past. Hopefully that makes sense.
