When Rosanna Carteri retired (in 1966) she definitely was NOT at the height of her career. By 1966 the sopranos were Leontyne Price, Caballe, Joan Sutherland , Nilsson . (by 1966 Carteri did not sing in any important theater in the world, Carteri highest point of her career had been between 1951 and 1957)
@@DanMontesTenor I agree with you. The MET wanted her but she chose her family. Good on her IMHO. Her La Rondine, Traviata and her Desdemona also on TH-cam shows that she was a wonderful artist and could have competed with the most famous of them all. Not limited at all.

I hope you will post all of Jan Peerce's appearances, not just the opera pieces but the popular songs too (thank you again for "Serenade").
