Only 1 word to describe this series: avant-garde

Haven't seen this yet, rather dismayed at the negative reaction from commenters here... but as a fan of "The Prisoner" I'm quite excited to see it nonetheless. Didn't know this existed, thanks so much for uploading it!

Not too shabby. I made three pilgrimages to Portmerion. Now that I am a federal political prisoner for the rest of my life, that is all she wrote.

    Yeah!
Iron Maiden's song "The Prisoner" is what got me into the series in the first place!
    NEVER QUESTION BRUCE DICKINSON!

Funnily enough, after just re-watching the series for the first time, I thought to myself "you know, Fry would make a good Nr. 2". Then, later, saw one of the thumbnails for this...

Fry IS a number two. Odious left wing twat.

"The Prisoner (was) really the sum total of the work and devotion of a magnificent team and they were all towers of strength. David Tomblin, Jack Shampan, the art director - what he contributed! He was way ahead of television design. And of course the writers, ... people like Tony Skene, Louis Greifer, Gerald Kelsey and others. You know, it's not the McGoohan opera, it really isn't." - George Markstein

I knew the remake of The Prisoner, if it ever happened, would fall far short of McGoohan's original. But to fall short one must first stand -- sadly, the remake was on its face from start to finish. People showing no spark of creativity tried to change the genius of McGoohan's original inspiration -- they simply, and sadly, embarrassed themselves.

Guy Doleman-the cool first No. 2-was also in Thunderball. The evil but equally cool Count Lippe.

The negative comments are there because it is trite rubbish. The series was however brilliant.

I was dropping acid in the SF Bay Area in 1967 and watching this. Wowie. Behavior prediction, learning thru drugs, camera's everywhere, mind invasion, dream invasion and behavior alteration thru drugs, you can't trust anyone because "everyone" works for the village, men in black, technology to assault you, like Rover. In"The Chimes of Big Ben" #2 tells him all about the village, the 2 sides are one, a global constabulary, and the girls, even in "Chimes" are bad girls working for the village.

I stand by my comment, and vorjay needs to look to the dictionary for the meaning of 'pretentious.' Who would have the unmitigated gall to stand up and say the remake even got within a thousand miles of the original? No one with any artistic knowledge or talent. And if my remark truly is the most pretentious remark you've ever seen on TH-cam -- well, that's just another childish, absurd remark. Do ya get out much?

This documentary makes it seem like so much less than it is... it cheapens it....

Complete B.S. I've worshiped this series since first seeing it nearly half a century ago and find nothing in this documentary that requires your denigrating it. I'm not SAVING it, mind you, but your over the top "it cheapens it" is both pointless and insulting. It's an homage and doesn't hurt the original genius in the slightest.

Interesting - a documentary ruined by the presence of its host. Probably should have found someone without a lisp who didn't demand so much air time.

I hate when those who cannot act try to do an homage to those who were simply brilliant. This sucked, I've seen better film on teeth. I've passed better idea than this in the toilet,
