    !!! I use the most fair approach. No prepayments. You get a free trial class which is a real-time class with my current students who are taking the course right now. If you like it, you enroll. But still no payments in advance. You will pay only after you start the course and you can do it during the first week of a month. Not in advance. Also we have monthly payments only. So you don't pay for the whole course. I will be proving that it's the top quality education class by class to keep you enrolled in. 99% of students finish all 9 months of the course. I've been doing it like that for 8 years in a row. Get the Free Trial class - it's a fair approach!

      Thanks! It's an important step forward for everybody who never considered a compressor as an EQ.

  • @rome8180
    @rome8180 2 ปีที่แล้ว +12

    This is such an important concept. It changed the way I used compression. I used to think of compression as "dynamic control." Now I think of it as "tone shaping." Often, where I used to reach for an EQ, I'll now reach for a compressor. I also spend much more time playing with attack and release because I have a better ear for what it's doing to the tone of my instrument.
    I'm glad you made a video on this. Like I said, it's something I've been thinking about. But I've never seen anyone else make a video about it.

    • @AndrewZeleno1
      @AndrewZeleno1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! It's even strange that in the world of frequency, volume and phase, most people don't understand how this "volume tool" changes frequencies.

    I'm in Andrews class at the moment, nearly at the end of 9 months. I am a self taught engineer, working professionally in the live industry for 10 years. I have been a musician and songwriter for 25 years, and in all of this time I have been recording by myself and in professional studios. I can say without any doubt, no matter what level you are at you will get something out of this course. Andrews classes show a scientific approach to every aspect of working with audio in a studio setting, and will move your skills years ahead of what you might be able to achieve on your own. You'll never need another random youtube tutorial again...

    That's is what I exactly learned on the Andrew's course! 3 years ago it was for me a large discovery that compressor could be EQ. Possibly here there is the answer what to use first EQ or Compressor, maybe sometimes it worth it first to try with Compression and then make some adjustments with EQ?! 😎 Thank you very much Andrew for great video!

      I meant that in general if you compare the content of videos VS the content of my course, then the content of the course is 10 times stronger and fuller, plus structured by topics, sub topics etc.. Videos are random short nuances which still make them valuable but far weaker than the course.

    Very nice video and I did learn something! Besides this concept let's not forget that any plugin emulation has it's specific eq curve (for example Waves CLA-76, Bluey has tamed highs like a LPF on it, while blacky's highs are almost neutral), so YES compressors are EQ in that way too. Great video!

    0:18 "what are you talking about?" - When people say that "eq before compression" (or vice versa), they don't say that the compressor doesn't affect the frequency of the source/track. Of course whatever processing we apply, it affects the phase, therefore the frequency.

    • @AndrewZeleno1
      @AndrewZeleno1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No man :) You wouldn't believe how many people absolutely don't consider that a compressor changes the frequency balance. Anyway it's a video hook. No point to discuss an intro :)

    Привет Андрей. То что частотная характеристика волны меняется по времени и ослабляя усиливая разные отрезки волны компресором можно получить на выходе разный результат это я помню еще по курсу. • @AndrewZeleno1
      @AndrewZeleno1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Привет Олег. Вы наверно не совсем поняли видео. Промер с шипящими это просто пример второго типа. Первый был про то что разные части ноты имеют разный баланс и компрессором мы меняем их баланс грмокости а значит и баланс частот акцентируется другой. А пример LA2A для борьбы с шипящими это самая стандартная вешь на свете которую мы проходили в теме сайд-чейн, где болтиком LA-2A мы фильтруем то что слышит LA2A. И знаставляем его реагировать прежде всего на сибилянты вокала. Вы наверно пропустили эти темы на курсе.

    • @AndrewZeleno1
      @AndrewZeleno1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      For example if it starts instantly and holds the same attenuation to the very end of a note then it will be just an EQ. Then it just an EQ and depending on the notes' volume in those chosen frequency ranges it cuts more or less. So it's a dynamic-dependable EQ

    So I could use an EQ pedal as a compressor, knowing the right settings.

    "Compression is for kids" - Bruce Swedien

      The question is who is Bruce Swedin? :) A compressor is just a tool. And an audio engineer is not a celebrity of a philosopher :) More like a knobs turner. If a compressor helps to achieve a task then it's the right tool. Anyway a human overestimates the value of their opinion. Including Bruce and me and anyone.

    You deserve the support, so I confirm this feels indeed like a teaser of your course which is much more in-depth, but as didactic.

      I'm a long time subscriber. Not sure if it's a teaser. This video gives more value than most youtube full fat tutorials. I mean much more. Unique info, well explained, and most importantly proved by examples and by a frequency analyzer. Most youtube tutorials provide the info that everyone already knows and without decent examples. Most of them are just talks.

      @@covidpassforslaves5623 I agree. But this is just a teaser of the course in my opinion.

      Man, I'm a half or Ukrainian and half Russian. For me it's a civil war. And I have something to do with it for sure while my mother were sitting in the basement under bombardment. So don't be that smart. I left that area many years ago not to have anything to do with this brother killing war.

      Good point. But I originally started mentioning it since like 2016 to filter haters of Russia. Many people thought I making videos from Russia.
