In our house, we always watch The Polar Express on that day, but the days before that, we tend to watch "A Christmas Story" which is my dad's favorite.
The first two Home Alone movies and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation is a huge must on my list, as well as A Christmas Story and the Grinch. I just showed my little sister Home Alone for the first time this year, and now she calls them “The Kevin Movie” and “The Kevin Movie 2” 😂♥️

One of the best Christmas shows ever: Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol - it has a wonderful score and used to play every year. One of my favorites. Also Silent Mouse - the story about a mouse living in the organ when Silent Night was being composed. It's darling. Does anyone remember 'The Night the Animals Talked'? Or Mitch Miller's Christmas show?
I love A Christmas Story! I just watched Santa Claus a few days ago on TV and that movie doesn't hold up. As a kid in the '90s I watched it and loved it because I watched a lot of movies and television with Tim Allen. But now, it's lame, cheesey and not that great. A Christmas Story definitely still holds up.

As far back as I can remember, 'Die Hard' was the first film I ever watched at age three. Since then, it ain't Christmas til Hansfall off the Nakatomi Tower. I'd say that qualifies it as a childhood Christmas movie that never gets old.

Is Rankin Case's very first stop motion holiday special that pulls so hard on your heart strings. It's the story of young Donkey who must guide a coupl, Marry and Josph, to the Bethlehem to hide from King Herod. You will tear up during this holiday special. 😞😭💗

A Christmas Story should of been number 1. I remember taking my niece and nephew to see it in the theater when it came out. And we LOVED IT. So much so I bought it on VHS. And when my daughter was born in June of 1988 I went right over to my parents house and took it back. And we made a tradition of watching it every Christmas together with my husband and kids. Then finally in 2002 when our VCR finally conked out my oldest daughter came over with a DVD of it. So we could continue the tradition. I eventually bought a Blu-ray copy with all the bonus footage. Lol it is CRAZY the kid who played Schmidt (the one who got his tongue stuck to the flagpole) became a porn actor. Lmao!!!

Both of my boys are grown and are living 3 hours away along with my grandbabies. It's just me, the husband and my 2 four legged babies and they couldn't care less about Christmas. I live in SW Florida so we have some damage from hurricane Ian and if that wasn't bad enough about a month ago a drunk driver ran into the side of our house so, yah, that's a tall order for just one movie to break through! 😁 I hope you have a wonderful Christmas, your mother is still with you in spirit and you still carry her in your heart and one day you will see her again! In the meantime continue to live your live to the fullest, fullfil your dreams, and if she had had any she left undone, do them in her memory, you may find you had fun and it will make you feel closer to her. When I was growing up my grandmother tried to teach me how to crochet, I just couldn't grasp it with my dyslexia, so when she died (I was in my early 30's) I was bound and determined to teach myself, so I did, I only know one pattern, I know it by heart I've made so many afghans, but that's it, I know different stitches and I did make my mother a really pretty shawl but she wouldn't use it because it was "too nice and she didn't want to mess it up". 🙄 But anyway, I'm trying to say I learned for my grandmother because she loved that hobby and she wanted at least one of her grandchildren to follow her example so I did but now it's something I do because I like to do it, I do it just as much for myself as for her, and my boys go crazy for them. Go figure.🤷

Now, I have the opposite experience - my four-leggeds love Christmas! They are just like children and act up weeks before the actual day and have to investigate what it is you're bringing into the house. I have cats, one of which has kidney failure so he gets treatments every other day and just recently had a stroke but the little guy is hearty and continues on - he can surely put the food away! Merry Christmas to you and yours and here's praying we both have a wonderful and Blessed Christmas season.
