    Funny you say it was flat. They said to me its rolling course , you will be almost up the next bump with the downhill speed. For me , a 105 kg rider, it was climbing from 100 km up until km 1100 . haha. Good luck with the next challenge.

      I was riding with some bigger riders, and some were climbing really well on the shorter hills. The power on the flats was crazy though! At times I was struggling just to stay on the wheel!

    Nice to watch a rider who actually fuels properly.. Most YT riders think one bottle of water and a banana will be plenty...

    • @MattPage
      @MattPage  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Correct fueling is the biggest factor for such long events. It is a huge demand on your body, and having a range of options I find really important. I'm also not sure what there will be at checkpoints. At LEL they had lots of hot food options provided FOC, but I believe it is different for PBP.

    When I was 16 in the 70s and in the CTC some of the older guys who rode this came back to the clubroom with various good and interesting tales of things that happened during this event. :) They still do apparently ..

    Good Luck and Have Fun ! Try to save energy by riding with the pack for the first 200KM even though you like to ride alone. I Participated in 2019 PBP & 2022 LEL and this time watching you from your channel.

    • @MattPage
      @MattPage  ปีที่แล้ว

      1200km I believe is the quoted distance, but the front derailiuer uses much more battery than the rear. I did change the charge cable and a during a stop plugged it into a power bank, just in case.

    Do you find that the shorter cranks delay the onset of that numbness or stops it? I have had the operation done on my left leg but have a positive clinical diagnosis in my right. ( I am not getting a second operation)

    • @MattPage
      @MattPage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do find they help slow the onset during hard efforts, and the recovery seems quicker too. A few weeks ago I did a test on a turbo back to back, 160 v 170, but I've not had time to look at the data.

    • @MattPage
      @MattPage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Of course! Peaty's sealant, at 70psi.
      One butyl, one TPU, multi tool with chain tool, patches, quick link, valve extenders, and probably a few more small things.

    • @MattPage
      @MattPage  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I'm 168cm, and it's 54cm. I'm on the limit though, and many at the same height would be 51cm. I'd say you're likely to be 51cm.
