Camped that exact campsite at Morrison last Summer, during a week of hopping from campground to campground. Beautiful site cooled by the shade of that big maple.
Awesome video! My wife and I were camping at Kiasutha the week of July 4, 2017 and paddled the whole eastern leg of the reservoir that Morrison is on. I had a Bald Eagle land in a tree about 30 or 40 feet from me by the stone pillar you paddled past! We paddled over 50 miles just on that leg of the reservoir that week.
Thank you! I want to head back out there, hopefully when the weather is a little better and spend a week kayaking and moving from campground to campground to see more of the reservoir. It's a beautiful area. Thanks for watching!!
Where do you live? I am in Union City PA, about an our West of Kinzua. I would like to paddle the perimeter of the reservoir camping from place to place. I think it could be done in a week
Thanks for the video, heading to Allegheny River this weekend. Not sure if we are going to paddle the Reservoir or go from Betts to Bonnie Brae. The Reservoir looks beautiful.
Awesome, hope you're enjoying it. I choose to do the reservoir on this trip because I knew the weather might have been an issue, which it obviously was, and I would have a relatively easy exit strategy. That sunset made it all worth it though!
Kurt Zitzelman Outdoors we loved the trip, me and my boys had a great time. The river was awesome. Going to make it an annual trip. Plan on doing the reservoir soon!
Thank you, yeah the area is beautiful and that sunset! I parked at the Elijah Boat Ramp, Google Maps coords: 41.819190, -78.946787 There is an Honor Box for a parking permit, and also honor boxes at the campgrounds for camping permits. I wasn't sure if one covered both or not so I just paid for them both separately, I don't mind paying extra to help maintain the forest.
Those are running lights. I don't think most kayakers know they are supposed to have them if paddling at night. I spent years in Florida kayaking in water patrolled by the Coast Guard and you need to follow maritime law with them. There is a green and red light up front and a white beacon on the back.
If i remember correctly I had spotty service near the dam and better service about 5 miles east of the reservoir. On the water it was spotty at best, that was with T-Mobile so VZ or ATT might be better.

I wish the weather would have cooperated more when I was there, but it was still a great trip and I really liked that campsite.
love that little cove you scouted out with the flowing river! So beautiful with the foliage in close like that!
It was a great trip, the whole area is beautiful. Thanks for watching.

I live out by Scranton, about 4 1/2 hours east of Allegheny National Forest. I think the whole thing could be done in a week as well.
Kurt Zitzelman I googled it and goole says it is 91 miles of shoreline. Roughly 15 miles in six days, very doable.

Beautiful trip! Could you share where you parked your vehicle overnight?

@@KurtZitzelman Thank you very much!
Thinking about doing some camping this year, hows the fishing in that water? I've never been there.
From Butler PA.
I didn't fish at all when I was there, but it's supposed to be good for rrout, walleyes, bass, muskellunge and pike.
What is the green light you have on the front right side? Battery?

Can you tell me if you had cell service ?

What gps do you use?
I was using a Gallon Etrex until I dropped it and the USB port stopped working.
