What an epic start to their adult lives! When I think about all the money that I threw away on rent after I finished Uni, if only I had known about tiny homes back then! What an epic view. I think big I would have a hard time getting to work every day. I would be waiting to sleep in long enough to wake up to those views, a cozy, laid back breakfast/brunch. Then off to adventures at the coast, which must be close by, since they eventually want a boat.
Lovely design with clean lines. And its so refreshing to see a young couple who aren't burdened by financial pressure, but who are able to enjoy their lifesytle. They were prepared to work hard and build their home for the sake of this freedom. I respect that.
Absolutely! What an epic start to life. When I left Uni I was heavily burdened with student loan debt and its much worse for young people today. If I had a do-over, I'd certainly make some different life choices there. Enjoy your coffee mate!
Some tiny house has wood fiber insolation with clay on it. It passively regulates moisture (it's like a sponge!), it also works like thermal mass regulating the temperature. The building has a moisture membrane who lets moisture pass (out), but stops wind from going in. The inner clay walls, the wood fiber insulation and *clay* paint (not normal paint!) transfers moisture by using capillary forces. It's a passive system.
One of my all time interviews! Yes, the house is absolutely beautiful! The parking place is gorgeous. But to build while at University, and never pay rent.! In their case, nor mortgage ! Totally genius! What an outstanding team! Another great one, Bryce..you never let us down!
Well done, Luke and Phoebe! What an awesome home, and you built it yourselves! Love the minimalist look with the clean lines. Truly a home to be proud of.
It looks very professional for a self build, especially the outside finish. They did a great job.👍😁 However, I personally think that being able to see into all the corners while inside makes it feel smaller, not larger. Living in a tiny home seems so inviting though and such a pleasant way of life.
This has to be one of my favorite tiny homes. I love the white with the color of the countertops. The clean, uncluttered look makes it look like something I would enjoy ❤. So beautiful!
I just happened to glance over the screen as I was playing the video in the background... I honestly thought that grass field was a framed artwork... it was a WINDOW!
Beautiful home. Btw, New Zealand is stunning. Every week each home's parking space/views are absolutely beautiful. God snapped when He created New Zealand 🙌🏽💕🤯
Great that I couldn't sleep just yet 'cause I got to watch this soon after it's uploaded. Another one for the books. Thanks Bryce & Rasa. An early AM watch fr Cebu, PH
Great home, wish them the best. Bryce, and the Living Big team: You've featured a lot of tiny homes on wheels, which is great, but for some variety, do you think you could show some tiny-to-small homes that have foundations and are not mobile? It would be nice to see some variety because the tiny homes on wheels have very similar dimensions (and layouts) since they're building to a trailer footprint.
That couple did a nice job building it themselves and with no experience. And what a view! Are there any bad locations in NZ? All the folks you interview have such gorgeous spots - I am jealous!
Beautiful clean lines. Truly minimalist. What a great project to consolidate your relationship through discipline, problem-solving collaboration etc to achieve such a stunning home. Well done, Phoebe and Luke. (Your dreams remind me a bit of the trajectory of @Odd Life Crafting!). So much respect for you guys.
Beautiful house and lovely couple! So impressed that they did it all themselves, and while at university, too! Stunning views of the surrounds and love all those big windows! The only thing that I would change is having some sort of wooden bedrail-type thing on the stairs side of the bed (maybe from halfway along the bed to the end of it), just to ensure total safety while sleeping. Amazing house and location!!! Well done!!!
Awesome build, exceptional couple for sticking with it over three years. I just don’t know any university students who have access to $120k… BUT they are mortgage free and that is a HUGE achievement in their young lives!
These views you both have capturing are breathtaking. Lovely home and they are well powered up love it. I agree Bryce, but now we know and we are making the adjustment to the tiny house living. Your videos inspired me during Covid times ….thanks for sharing 👏🏽👏🏽❤️❤️
Very clever to build a home so early in life. I just wondered if that house would be cold with no curtains. Fantastic being off-grid, a great investment. Some young people invest in the stock market while at Uni but this seems a more practical investment.
Just love how easily you can get into the bed! Extra storage space lofts can provide is nice, sure, but not having to crawl around the area is so much better imo
Love these videos - would love to hear about how people deal with internet access just as much as power, water, etc. Most utility problems are solved but internet is a sticking point many times it seems. Thanks for this channel! Great stuff!
Fantastic use of space looks lovley and bright and off grid well thought out, love the gorgeouse views so awesome to see a young couple getting off to a great start in life , cant say enough of what I love about this tiny it is gorgeouse , well designed thought out bathroom , well done & wish you all the best in your future endeavours.
Love it 😍😍😍. Also the tub outside is great. Can see myself in something similar, I'll keep it in mind for inspiration as I'm considering selling my appartment & go tiny as well 😊
What a beautiful and welcoming home. And I imagine that building it together would be a great test of a relationship - if you can do that without falling out, you obviously get on very well!
Great message Allie. Your camping adventures always bring back our long ago adventures under canvas..never a dull moment in the holiday modes. Keep them coming!!!

Investments into cement projects are unsustainable and not “green “
Would love to know sizing of the off grid system
Incredibly inspiring!

@@YHauz-co Why does everything have to be green? The internet is not green and you use it.
Moral of the story: there are a lot of people who have skills they do not develop, but when needed, they realise they can! Wonderful house.
Very true! Most people have no idea how capable they really are.
What a thought provoking comment…it’s got me wondering…. hmm. thanks for that
Moral of of story: have rich land owning family.
In our country, we have a saying,
If there's a will, there's a way, *and this couple proves it* 😊
Lovely design with clean lines. And its so refreshing to see a young couple who aren't burdened by financial pressure, but who are able to enjoy their lifesytle. They were prepared to work hard and build their home for the sake of this freedom. I respect that.
Well said!
Are you willing to sell me your floor plans? I absolutely love this!!
The level of execution for a diy build is incredible. You could easily say it’s professional standard. Phenomenal job guys!!!!
And it all started with a model the size of a shoe box on Luke’s bookshelf. Bursting with pride, congratulations Granny
The people who build their own tiny houses always take the most pride in the finished product.
You can't BUY that pride.
I feel em on the solar system. May as well go big. Awesome home, thanks for sharing! 👍🏿
What a wonderful way of setting yourself up without crippling debt. And looks amazing too. Cheers Bryce and Rasa...coffee is on 😊

The clouds in the property shots are phenomenal! Awesome property / house AND photography!
Very nice looking home AND off the grid! This is the way of the future. Well done.
Nice mention of a dehumidifier. This an essential appliance for living in a Tinyhouse in winter for us.

They're so cute together and I love how he's always got his arm around her. Nobody's falling off that bed 😍😍
Absolutely true

Well done, Luke and Phoebe! What an awesome home, and you built it yourselves! Love the minimalist look with the clean lines. Truly a home to be proud of.
New Zealand is something else. That view... So beautiful.
Lovely home, neat, clean, organised,a smart couple with clear goals.
Love this minimalist modern home! I love to see young people make good decisions in the beginning, like this.
It looks very professional for a self build, especially the outside finish.
They did a great job.👍😁
However, I personally think that being able to see into all the corners while inside makes it feel smaller, not larger.

Hello Ruth
How are you doing today?
Congratulations to both of you! The home you created for yourselves and those views are to die for 🥰
What a lovely home, the build is excellent and the off grid features are especially inspiring.
I think that tiny home is the most minimal house ive seen, simple and spacious,a bare outside deck is also nice 😊👍
Hello dear

This has to be one of my favorite tiny homes. I love the white with the color of the countertops. The clean, uncluttered look makes it look like something I would enjoy ❤. So beautiful!

Amazing tiny home! These two seem to have an awesome lifestyle, what a great way to live a minimalist life whilst saving for the things you love! ❤
Great home, wish them the best.

For sure. We try to feature all kinds of homes. Our last two episodes were both now on wheels and we are always on the hunt for more.
That couple did a nice job building it themselves and with no experience. And what a view! Are there any bad locations in NZ? All the folks you interview have such gorgeous spots - I am jealous!
Very true! I think a lot of tiny homes end up landing in some spectacular locations as it's easier to find parking spots in more rural areas.
Another lovely home! Thanks Bryce and Rasa for your work, and thank-you Phoebe and Luke for sharing.
I like how cuddled up they are after many years together and a build.
what a small, decent and humble tiny house..... and that price with SOLAR INCLUDED! WOW!
What a smart couple! I wish them the best of everything.
Beautiful clean lines. Truly minimalist. What a great project to consolidate your relationship through discipline, problem-solving collaboration etc to achieve such a stunning home. It's such a happy home, too, see these young 'uns build their home & save loads of money!! How smart, nothing but good vibes going your way!!❤

thought the same thing.....also maybe find something more neutral looking for the appliance boxes in the kitchen just to keep the clean lines.
DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Look at the size of those solar panels! Wooh!!
Incredible job! Too minimalist for me but having a house with no mortgage fresh out of uni is a dream!
I really like the look of the outside of this one. This whole home is one of my favourites
Clean lines do pay back. Really nice decisions on this beautiful home.
Awesome build, exceptional couple for sticking with it over three years. I just don’t know any university students who have access to $120k… BUT they are mortgage free and that is a HUGE achievement in their young lives!

Nice and simple yet elegant DIY tiny home.
Really nice, simple tiny house. I especially love the loft.
Those windows view look like landscaping portrait. I love them.
Very clever to build a home so early in life. I just wondered if that house would be cold with no curtains. Fantastic being off-grid, a great investment. Some young people invest in the stock market while at Uni but this seems a more practical investment.
Fresh clean bright home....they can add as they want to or need to...but great all round....what a fabulous space ...and views ...😊
