Awesome! As an American teaching in the UK as Covid hit, I had a Ghanaian flatmate (and eventually a group of Ghanan friends) and a Nigerian landlady. As I'd previously had a Ghanaian professor, my flatmate's accent was familiar, but though my landlady's accent was quite different I never "nailed down" the nuances. Super video! (In the US, too often: "Name a country." "Africa." Ummm...)
I recently heard a British person on tv that sounded American at times to my American ears. That person's mother and grandmother are from Nigeria. This video helped me realize that some of the American vowel sounds were Nigerian. Of course some of both the Nigerian and Ghanian variations in this video sound British to me as well. I wonder how different media like TH-cam content and movies impact English pronunciation in these countries among young persons. Thank you for putting your voices out into the world for people to learn from.

Thanks girls, that makes sense. I'm from the Republic of Benin and I do notice how English accent and pronunciation can vary from Nigeria to Ghana. It's a helpful video for us (English speakers of the French speaking countries).
Both of you are beautiful, and the immediate correction of, "On Sundays..." just cracked me up. I could happily spend hours listening to both of you talk. And what man has ever said THAT about women???
Both countries are on par when it come's to speaking english. Both countries are supposed to speak British English because it's obvious they were both colonised by the British but I think the Ghanaians are being sincere, keeping and making use of the British accent and english where as the Nigerian form of English including the accent has deviated from the proper British english and has widely been influenced by American english and accent. Also in some ways the indeginous accent of both countries also has a big influence on how both countries speak their various kind of english. Only someone without a proper knowledge and a broad view of English language would think Nigeria English is better or Ghanaian English is better.
I dont think the nigerian English has been influenced by American English. They dont sound american but they sound very much like northern british so probably their colonial masters were northern british .They also like to pronounce their 'Os'. I believe Ghanaians were colonized by the southern british , which is the standard british.
Thank you. Thats what i noticed. Most people say Ghanaian is more british than nigerian but im like naaa.. nigerian sounds northern and Ghanaian sounds southern
Nigeria and Ghana, a love hate relationship.
