"Easy" or "chill" games get unearned hate from the "hardcore gamer" demographic imo. Don't get me wrong I love a good roguelike or Souls game, but sometimes games are just fun because they're...fun, and it has nothing to do with whether you're beating your head against the wall or not because of its difficulty. Same reason I love the Kirby series.
I didn't have a huge desire to play this, but I still wanted it to do really well because having a more interesting peach is just better for so many reasons. After seeing the review I would actually consider picking this up at Nintendo sale price
@@mbii7667 I meant her first entry in this particular IP, maybe her next one will take her to Hollywood (or the mushroom kingdom equivalent) Wouldn’t consider Super Princess Peach a prequel to this, the same way that I wouldn’t consider Mario Is Missing to be a prequel to Luigi’s Mansion. The first Luigi’s Mansion game was a good first entry for him.
I’m really enjoying this game so far. I like the variety with combat, stealth and puzzles. I like having a low effort game to play. It fits my tastes and gaming style and I hope Nintendo makes more. Maybe expand on it with a longer game.
I love this game and I’m a grown man. You’re right about the gameplay is very similar to Super Mario 64 in that you’re collecting sparkles instead of stars, I like the variety of styles in the gameplay styles, with my only gripe is the lack of voice acting which again is similar to Mario 64, along with Peach’s jump as regular Peach, with the game being easy is great to me as I find I’m not the greatest gamer ever and the lower difficulty of the game really helps as I’m at that stage in my life where i don’t like my games to be too difficult, i think while this is a first party game, it wasn’t developed by Nintendo directly, it was developed by Good Feel games but the frame rate issues haven’t been noticeable to me but then I’m not a frame rate buff. But i definitely agree that the game is overpriced but I really like this game though, nice and fair review. I just got my copy of the game. Congratulations on reaching 350k subscribers.
I wonder if we get a princess daisy game? I want to go back and explore her country along with her having to save her country from whatever evil threatens it
I'm definitely getting this game! The demo left me wanting, but the different styles of gameplay look really fun, and it's nice to see a game that tries something different. I just hope they'll patch it up to improve performance.
I enjoyed it. Definitely on the easier side but it was a good chilled romp which is ok some times. I definitely need these kind of games in between the longer games I play. Also, in the options you can swap the buttons around for jump and action.
I was surpised I enjoyed the demo as much as I did. I feel with a price drop either physical or virtual, it would be an buy. Think it will be a sleeper hit
(The wife lol) I played it at 100% love it! To me, it almost feels like a game the dev used to see if people would play this kind of game for princess peach. It’s as if they didn’t wanna waste time and money into it when they’re trying to do Luigi’s mansion, but have some thing for some people to play. It’s not long at all. It gives me Luigi mansion vibes, but easier. I loved the levels and the different outfits you played as it was fun. I will say THE PRICE SHOULD’VE BEEN $40 AT MOST! Crazy price I preorder because I wanted this game for a while now. But it’s expensive. I feel like anyone who wants to play for fun should play it when it’s on sale. It’s good though!
I think this kind of game is the right length and difficulty at least for me but I understand that some people like a challenge but games don’t always need to be difficult to be fun.
The demo was fun. Sometimes I want a challenge and sometimes I don't. That's where this fits in. The variation in levels is pretty cool. Still, not sure if it's really my kind of game. For now it goes on the list.
i've played a family game that this reminds me of (Yoshi's Crafted World) and I really enjoyed it. Still haven't played the princess preach showtime demo, but i will check it out this weekend. If it turns out to be similar enough to YCW, im sold! I love intense games, but these days life itself is so intense that im looking for a cozy game to unwind to :)
@@elsamarks8477 that’s great news! Thats literally the deciding factor: make me feel like I’m playing YCW all over again because there has been a void in my heart ever since I completed that game 😂

Been playing it with my niece, by which I mean I'm mostly playing it after she tries for a bit and gives up. Been a lot of fun. Love all the costumes for Peach.

It's good to hear you didn't like the levels in the demo, so maybe it's worth trying the game after all. It's so pricey though so I'll wait to see if it ever goes on sale. Thanks for a great review!
It's a shame that Nintendo doesn't make their games cater for gamers of different skill levels. I don't buy into games being either for kids or adults. Simply adding difficulty levels would accommodate a broader audience. It's been a problem that has plagued games like Pokemon and Kirby for years.
Not everyone wants to play games that are difficult. You have to realize that these types of games are trying to appeal to anyone. They are not meant to be like Dark Souls or something. If you got an problem with that, than it's your fault.
Kirby games don't need more difficulty. That's not what they're for. Mario does a good enough job of scaling from easy to somewhat tricky platforming without going full on Super Meat Boy, and that's all they really need. "Souls like" has already done enough damage to the gaming world, pretending that clunky difficulty is somehow good gameplay or makes the game. Nintendo games are fine as they are.
This feels like it was made with girls in mind as the main target demographic and it's nice that Nintendo gave it the effort and polish to make an actually GOOD "girl-game", instead of the all too common shovelware a lot of devs have tried to pass off as worthwhile bc they don't understand that their demographic wants, you know, something that isn't dumbed down and bad
I do agree this game has it own uniqueness and charm but for the gameplay I feel quiet disappoint. Yeah I'm not their target audience but I do enjoy Super Mario Odyssey so I'd expect this game at least at that level but I'm maybe wrong because the full game ain't out yet.

I totally agree with this review. It’s a cute game but it was too easy, limited actions, very short. I enjoyed playing as cowgirl, kung fu, ninja, patisserie, sword fighter. They other ones was different. On 1 level, I noticed was frustrating to control with the mermaid. She stays in place and only moves the fish while the screen keeps scrolling. Final boss had no kind of imagination on how to defeat it. It didn’t impress me. Peach has lots of pretty outfits. After my preorder purchase, I did get $5 back for it. I think the game is worth $30.
It managed to bring me back to my childhood when I played games like Yoshi Story, so for that I'm glad I picked it up. Probably should have waited for a sale, but I suppose feeling like a kid again doesn’t have a price. Yeah...probably should have waited.

It was actually on sale for 40€ where I live, and I think for me it would be worth something around that or a bit lower ☺️ Thanks for the review!
I'll eventually get it for my niece to play through and I can help if she has trouble with anything. It's pretty obvious it's targeting young Peach fans especially after the movie. It's actually pretty clever having all those game styles. It might get some kids only interested in Peach interested in some Non Peach games as well. Hopefully if the game is successful the next Peach game will be a little harder or at least have a difficulty select(something Nintendo should do way more often).
I love A as jump and B as attack, since I play exclusively on GameCube style controllers, but I've been asking since the N64: WHY ISN'T BUTTON MAPPING STANDARD FOR ALL GAMES!!! It's so simple, but such a relief when this option is included.
Honestly yhe audience for the game is definitely not for everyone. But the game is very well done for what they did. Its just weird how it took them this long to give peach her own game... No that wrord ds one doesn't count.
Played the demo and found the sword fighter level interesting compared to being a Baker, but sadly overall I do not fall into their target market. Seems like Nintendo played it safe and to me at least, they could be attempting to see what "costume" appeals most and may be used as a future project for Princess Peach. They could do a little more action based gameplay for her in another project; a little more Badass, a little less Princesss but that's just me. Thanks for covering so many variations in genres, everyone deserves a look. Cheers SwitchUp! PS hoping to see a review for Outward eventually if you both have time, especially since you're probably elbow deep in Contra and Kingdom Come Deliverance 😅
As the biggest and most exciting Nintendo release since Tears of the Kingdom, this had a lot to live up to, and it's a shame to see there are a few performance issues. The concept of the game is really good - probably the freshest thing Nintendo have come up with since Splatoon - but just a bit more character development and a bit more of a story (plus some polish on the performance) would really have elevated this one.
Another fair and honest review gents also congrats on hitting an impressive milestone 🍻🎉 Yea its definitely a Peach game so my expectations were spot on. Not worth $60 tho. Not really a Peach fan myself but I played the demo and it was pretty okay. I can say it could pass for a more casual playthrough. Happy gaming 🍻

I really enjoyed the game on the first playthrough. The fact you can't map the buttons where you prefer them is ridiculous, especially when there's only really two that you will use 90% of the time. I also prefer using Y and B. Once I decided to go back to 100% the game though, this is where I found the biggest fault, almost NONE of the cutscenes are skippable! Unless I wasn't pressing the right buttons. I was mashing them all trying to get the game moving along, so I'd be surprised if that was the case. In a game that is predicated on the idea of extending playtime by replaying levels this is seriously aggregious. I made it through about two floors before giving up. First time through, fine I'm probably not skipping them anyway. Subsequent playthroughs, that's pretty much unacceptable IMO. My recommendation to anyone considering it, it's totally worth a playthrough at a sale price. The lack of button mapping and unskippable cutscenes are absolutely ridiculous at this point in game design. It's been pointed out and commented on so much over the years that there really is no excuse for this continuing to be a thing. Still, I hope this game does well enough to see games centered around the other princesses or at least team ups with just them. 7/10
Nice name drop of Mr Ben. This one must have been hard to review as feel this is a game for a younger player like the Toad game. I feel these should be at the £25 mark as they don't feel as well developed as the bigger home games. The demo was very poor and I'm glad the game was better than that. This definitely feels like something that is a filler amongst better games. I wish they'd given her a better game. Felt stunted to me and deserved more. Especially for the price.
Played the demo, platformer for younger audiances, the game is simular to a ps3 game called puppeteer, even the scrolling round the tower and theme scenario

Lol, the action/jump buttons are the only controls you CAN change.
i couldn't even finish the demo. I could see the full game being more fun tho
Please, I just bought it anyhow.🤣
waiting to get this one on a sale at a later date
Won't happen
If you’re wondering why Mario isn’t in this game. He was going to until he lost his voice…
Thank you for the review. Looks like a good game for certain players.
finally another sequel to Yoshi's game, a 7/10 first party game
This is a game I would pay $10-15 for. It’s not worth the price point
Yeah, I do feel that Nintendo need a 'tier 2' price range for these sort of games. Glen
@@SwitchUpYt I recently got Balatro and Pentiment for under £25. 2 incredible games. All about that pricing.
I am also not the target audience, and I could not justify the price point for a game that even my daughter would not enjoy.
Thanks looks like a game I’ll buy when it goes on sale.
It really looks like Luigis Mansion like the same vibe
I lol’d at the Mr Ben bit, but at least a portion of that is my lack of knowledge. It’s seem British!
Not for me but might be great for either my younger sister or my mother who I got a Animal Crossing Switch.
350k yeaaaah Congratulations!! 🥳🥳🥳
Now Princess Daisy. & Rosalina are going to beg for their own game.
picked it up but so far only found enough time to do the opening stage
Mr Ben WAS a legend ❤❤
Played the demo, platformer for younger audiances, the game is simular to a ps3 game called puppeteer, even the scrolling round the tower and theme scenario
Its very cute game and looks very fun ❤❤❤❤
Tbh I still want to play it being a peach game I might wait for a sale dou

I did not liked that much the patisserie level
Oh no... they didn't re-name Cowgirl Peach
I played the demo. It a very easy game, target for Kids... still a nice game fun to play but not worth the full price.
