Consumption tests are mixed and all around the place with this car. I was seriously consider it but I just can't trust it for urban stop-go traffic. Yaris reviews are all on the same page, always, and way better than this. I'll most probably go for the Yaris but I hope they improve this with next generation! Thank you for the video.
You’re welcome. Yesterday of course Yaris has better mpg but you need to pay more. I don’t know how it’s looks like with PCP etc in between those two cars.
@@AutoStartTest In my country, top spec MG costs 23500 while the Yaris Style (almost full spec but very close in features with MG) costs 24600. It's not a big difference here. Cheers!
I was really interested in buying an MG3 to replace my eight year old Suzuki Celerio but frankly its fuel economy simply isn't good enough. The Suzuki averages 70 mpg come rain or shine. That equates to roughly 9p/mile. Given that the Suzuki's insurance costs a mere £125/year & there's no tax to pay, I just cant make the economics work. BTW, if you repeated the MG3's fuel economy test but this time drove it 100% in Eco mode with max regeneration, kept your speed below 60 mph & moderated your right foot in terms of acceleration (in other words, like I would drive!)...I would be very interested in what the car would be capable of. I suspect a lot of other green minded folks would be too
I understand that in the World of hybrids it's fine to see new car but MG3 hybrid+ is not mirracle. This car will be next to the Yaris, Jazz, Clio or Kona. It doesn't offer anything new or fundamental compared to the competitors. Including consumption or price. With the same conditions (70 miles on highway, 30 miles on town) Yaris, Jazz or Yaris offers lower fuel consumption. So as I said, there is no mirracle, MG3 hybrid is just another hybrid on the European market.
@@AutoStartTest Yep, but it is so stupid to me. There is this market of people who want something smaller with a range of 400km and at least 100kw-120kw DC charging between 25-30K € and nobody wants this segment. Not one car producer is willing to make this happen and I think when they will come out with smaller EVs, then the used car market will be full of bigger used EVs for the same amount of money so then the small EVs will be hard to sell.
@@FéargalO I just googled is and looks nice, but everyone is just pushing these to the next Year and then they will be delayed again. At this rate, when they will come out I will just get a M3 or Ioniq 5.
@Nam3Iess you’re absolutely right, I would be happy to buy this kind of car, unfortunately even Hyundai stopped making ionic which was great car for great price with 38 kWh battery .
It’s not about it what you said. If you’re paying for hybrid car you want to save some money 💰, I had a Prius for 5 years and I saved lots of money on petrol, I prefer spending that money for something different than paying more money to politicians pockets

Amazing results 👍👍👍👍 thank you so much for sharing your experience
Thank you one of the best tests I have ever seen!
You’re welcome, I’m glad you like it.
Not being an ev is a win win situation, so, well done mg!
Someone could get better results using eco driving etc
I enjoyed watching. was two months and about 780 miles covered in my New MG3 Hybrid + Trophy
Hi m8 , thanks for your comment, what average mpg do you have?
@@AutoStartTest Average is about 59mpg. The best has been 65mpg

Hi , thanks for comment. If the dealer will agree I could do that test ones again with eco drive etc .
@@AutoStartTest Thanks.

Yes you’re right, but apart of hybrid drive you can get much more for less
Please write km also get more reviews
More like this one?
I just wish they would make it as an EV instead of a Hybrid :(
I’m more than sure they will do it in the future

When fuel is €0.80 then these cars and EVs are stupid. If you are trying so hard to save $50 a month then get a better job.
