      Quite enjoyed! The farther north in BC we go the quieter it gets... not even half way yet!

    Remote? Yes, and it reminds you of that every day...I love it. Some folks need to go to Mexico or Hawaii every year, I need to go up north in BC, NWT and Yukon every year and thankfully my wife comes with me.
    We didn't leave north Island this year because of fires and closures but we discovered plenty of new to us spots. You have introduced a new to me spot in Bowron Lake. I''ll be there next summer, for sure.

      We sound much the same! We got an introduction this year and are already hoping to return! If you go to Bowron add in Barkerville; you will enjoy!

      Our pleasure! We can’t wait to go back, but suspect the scenery even more amazing once you are more back country!

    Thanks for the video showing beautiful scenery of Bowron Lakes. My wife and I wanted to go there on Sep 3, 2021 when we were touring Barkerville but it was raining very heavily and were afraid to drive along the 28 km gravel road in our campervan, not knowing if it can be muddy. After seeing the video, we could have easily done it. Maybe next time. Please continue to show us more of your lovely travel/hike videos. Stay safe and take care.

      It certainly would have been muddy and perhaps slippery, but should have been fine. Your van however, would have needed to visit one of the two car washes in Quesnel on your way back!

    Looks like a beautiful spot. We will have to go and paddle there with our inflatable kayak. thanks for showing this.

      Perfect for that....and if you do the first lake (Kibbee) make sure you look for the access point to Thompson. Just a little after the first campsite on left. Hard to see as it is a narrow channel (marsh like). Safe travels!

    I think it's a falcon, bit hard to make out but eagles have yellow beaks, this ones is black.Oh must be an osprey. Some friends and I did the Bowron circuit in 1985. Hard to explain how beautiful it is, You have to experience first hand. The mountains that look so nice in the video are much more imposing in real life, not to mention the smell of nature all around you.

    What a beautiful place! In 1977 I was moving back to WA state from Alaska, and I took the ferry from Juneau to Prince Rupert, then drove the rest of the way. As it was more of a move than a vacation, I stuck to the highway and traveled with as few stops as possible. I've always wanted to get back that way at a more leisurely pace. Your latest videos have inspired me to dig out the BC and Vancouver Island maps and do some daydreaming. Keep it up! Also, I'm really enjoying the "Coming Up" segments at the end. (Have to add: isn't there a 4th option: pee in a bottle? LOL)

      @hikenrv  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha, we actually had that option in the video, but removed it...we never carry an extra bottle 😊. Appreciate the comment! 🚐

    Great adventure! My husband and I are the same thoughts as you and Mimi when it comes to keeping the itinerary/path. What brand is your emergency beacon?

      Glad you enjoyed! We have a Spot...just the basic model and it has worked well for several years, but are considering Garmin Inreach Mini In future.
