it's not really a metaphor just for "cool kids", it's more than that, white teeth teens represent people that are "born ready", born in the "right" class of society, also usually fitting in the beauty standards, so life is easy its just wake up and enjoy "everything works out so good, I wear the robe like no one could", and also they don't mix with other kids since most of then think they are cooler than others, and it seems that in USA you guys have some weird non-healthly hierarchy centered in popularity on schools.
