      Having a middle eastern immigrant mother will give you trauma around report-card time.
      I could have all A's but one B, and I'd have to sit at the dining room table face-to-face with my mother and explain to her for hours why I was deliberately trying to hurt her. Because that was her only rationalization for why I didn't have an A in every single class, It could only be because I was deliberately trying to hurt her. At age 35 I still don't understand that logic. I just want my kids to pass.

      Definitely got off easier than I would have. If I came home with a report card with mostly D's and Fs I would be Retired for the Season! Whatever is going on I would not be attending! If it was homecoming. The Fair was coming. My favorite singing group was coming to do a concert. I would be going to school, church on Sunday and sitting home! Made me wish I could get a whipping and get the punishment over with 😂

      @@Gunngirl we protested our math class. The math teacher was a Mensa level teacher, hated being transferred in as a favor to someone and did not like teaching kids - apparently she taught uni. We protested, mediated. She agreed to not be so salty, teach math like she liked us. Grades went up to a class B-average.

      Yeah it may be life but the way the kids are taught now in school is to the craziest power I ever seen in math .They make it harder for them to get the answer compared to when I was in school and I graduated in 1987 and had 1 child at 30 and when she hit 4th grade I was like what is all this extra stuff to get a simple answer in "basic math" they making it like Geometry or Algebra lol

      The thing is. I always got good grades. As time passes and you get older most things you learn in school you never use again. And if you dont use it you lose it. When I was in my late 20s I tried to help my little brother with his homework and by that time common core was implemented and I was beyond lost.

    I was excited to show my mom my report card lol. Half the time I was on principals list. The only reason I had good grades was bc my mom never waited until the report card was out to whoop my ass if I wasn’t doing my homework or actin a fool in class 😂, she did all that in advance

    My mom would already know I had a bad report card before I gave her mine because my teacher and my sister’s teacher would call and rat us out before we got home and my mom was already waiting for me and my sister with her belt as soon as we came through the door

    I absolutely love these!! But being from the UK, I'm always amazed that kids call their parents ma'am and Sir. I see lots of it, I think it's really polite and shows respect.. something we don't have a lot of in the UK. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

      It's primarily a southern respect thing. I'm 50 & still say it. My 16yo boys have to say it too👍🏾👊🏾

    I legit hid my very first report card in first grade in my bedroom. I didn't even look at it. Just stuck it in a book on a shelf with no intention of ever showing it to my parents. My mom walked in my room right after the parent-teacher conference like a week later and goes, "All right. Where is it?" She didn't even have to say what it was. I KNEW.

      @@johnbrown9654 More or less. It was only first grade, so grades didn't really matter. I remember just being paranoid about the comments. My mom read them and went, "It just says you're a bit bossy and you talk too much." lol
