So he asked his son to gave his kavach and kundal only after getting Vasavik shakti from Indra deva and Karna obeyed his father's order. By giving kavach and kundal, Indra deva also told to Karna that he can use the spear only when he was not occupied with other celestial weapons. If he uses it despite having other celestial weapons, then it will bounce back on Karna.
