In 1966 they made a Norman Wisdom comedy film called Pressed for Time in Teignmouth. With Norman on a bus chasing a suspected bike thief. Lots of aerial shots of Teignmoth and Shaldon bridge and a spectacular bus crash into the sea filmed on the back beach.

I remember this beach well as a child in 1950’s, we went to Teignmouth every year for our summer holiday and the Guest House we stayed in had one of the beach huts you filmed. Thank you so much for that wonderful memory. They used to run mackerel fishing trips from this beach, one chap was called Mr Roper and he had a boat called Lady Caroline. Another boat was White Heather and this ran much longer trips to Brixham. Fabulous times, anyone still alive who remembers them? ❤️

I visited Beautiful Teignmouth today and had a really good experience and the beach was very quiet and the seafront town centre is good and got lots of nice shops and the back beach with the boats I spent 3 hours here and went on the beach twice and had a long paddle in the sea and then walked to the shops and brought postcards and fridge magnets and walked to the back beach where the boats are a very nice seaside town on the south cost and we visited during high tide and loads of seagulls about
Watching this I drop into a semi dream like state; but then I jump back to wakefulness to see how valuable these recordings are. I, and others, spend many hours trying to piece together how places looked in the past. It's like a jigsaw puzzle with most pieces missing. A lot of people will find these videos boring and a waste of time. Me? I find them fascinating and they will become more so as time goes on. Even videos just a few years old I visit to compare with present day one's. I went back to see the storms of 2014 to compare them with the Feb. 2022 storms. As usual the MSM overhyped the Feb.22 storms.
